What is the worst-tasting drink you have ever had ?

I've had plenty of ropey glasses of water (chemicals, fluoride, iron) and off milk. But my all time champion is Greene King IPA, absolutely the most foul, disgusting beer I have drunk in 34 years of legal alcohol consumption. The one pint I managed to finish didn't taste remotely of beer, more like weak golden syrup with some unspeakable additives. Many years ago, I had a glass of Merlot which tasted like burning rubber. My guess is that it wasn't off but needed longer in the bottle to mature. Regardless, it was horrible.

My late parents were both fans of pastis drinks such as Pernod and Ouzo. Just the smell was enough to put me off. Eww.

Decades ago, I'm reliably informed that the ubiquitous Watney's Red Barrel was the gold standard for witchpiss in the brewing industry.

It was a good few years back and I needed a drink after surgery, it was foul and chemical flavoured. It was in the jug by the bed so assumed it would be drinkable. Perhaps they wanted a high return rate so made the patients sick.

That cheap chicory coffee you get, it’s never nice.

and milk, absolutely makes me feel queasy, I can’t even watch someone drink it other than a small child.

Tea made the traditional Pakistani way. Omg. Boil in a wok for days then add condensed milk. Dear god. So bad. Then trying to eat a desicated coconut sweat that I couldn't swallow as it was rightly a bit dry. I'd rather have washed it down with water from a toilet bowl.

I ended always vomiting it back and for years couldn't eat anything with black currants in.

We were once invited by a local family to a kava drinking ceremony in Fiji. We felt honoured and smiled and clapped our way through it. It was foul. Like milk of magnesia with added dirt. Felt nicely stoned afterwards though!

I wasted money on an M&S so called “magic coffee” in their cafe yesterday, literally undrinkable!

I'm with the aperol spritz haters! I don't really drink at all, I dislike most alcoholic drinks, but agreed to have one of these aperol spritz things at a work do a while ago as they looked lovely and refreshing. £8 it cost, and it was bloody awful!!! Why why why does anyone want something that tastes like that??!!!

Also agree with PP who mentioned Baileys. 😫Many years ago I planned a night of romance with my boyfriend at the time to give him a blow job for the first time and thought that a dip in the Baileys would enhance the moment. It didn't. Not advised. Awful.

Sambuca, ouzo, grappa, all of these drinks are like paint stripper and flavoured vodka, leave the vodka alone.

Grappa. I can only assume it’s what nail varnish remover would be like.

and herbal fruit teabags. Smell delicious. Put them in water and they are like hot water with a teaspoon of squash and some straw added to it. Pointless. I think they are better suited to keeping your sock drawer fresh!
