What is the worst-tasting drink you have ever had ?

I've had plenty of ropey glasses of water (chemicals, fluoride, iron) and off milk. But my all time champion is Greene King IPA, absolutely the most foul, disgusting beer I have drunk in 34 years of legal alcohol consumption. The one pint I managed to finish didn't taste remotely of beer, more like weak golden syrup with some unspeakable additives. Many years ago, I had a glass of Merlot which tasted like burning rubber. My guess is that it wasn't off but needed longer in the bottle to mature. Regardless, it was horrible.

My late parents were both fans of pastis drinks such as Pernod and Ouzo. Just the smell was enough to put me off. Eww.

Decades ago, I'm reliably informed that the ubiquitous Watney's Red Barrel was the gold standard for witchpiss in the brewing industry.

Macha tea

Neocate baby milk - the worst tasting of all the prescription baby milks!
I was made to taste it as part of a teaching session from the paediatric dieticians as a junior doctor. I’m amazed that any baby would drink it.

But I love Aperol Spritz, Negronis and any aniseed flavoured spirits so what do I know 😄

Either tomato juice or retsina. Both grim.

Espresso Tonic. Fizzy coffee. Bleeee!

Mongolian yak milk tea. Big fan of tea in various guises but that was a hard no.

Butter beer at the harry potter studios 🤢 utterly vile, no coincidence they had ‘slop’ bins by the bar that served it

Another one for southern comfort.

Shocked at those saying smoky whiskey but that's my national drink 😂

Watney's Starlight Bitter. The only beer I have ever actually spat out.

Campari is vile

I used to love this in my late teens and early 20s. Saw it on a bar when DW and I were on holiday so had a glass "for old time's sake". I agree, it was revolting.

Gin. I will never understand how someone can willingly drink gin. It's utterly disgusting.

Bitter melon tea
I'm not sure I have the vocabulary to describe it :)

A cup of tea. Three sips and I could manage no more. Awful claggy feeling and disgusting aftertaste. I was a child but I've never overcome the awful smell of a cup of tea.

Cardoman tea. Absolutely grim but in an overseas work situation where saying no would have utterly offended our hosts.

Malibu. Yuck.

Orange juice with cod liver oil in it

Dr Pepper. Ugh

Another vote for coconut water. I expected it to taste like coconut, instead it tasted like cereal milk. Vile

Another vote for the colonoscopy prep stuff, vile! Tastes like dirty, salty dishwater!
Also a violent yellow coloured iron tonic from the 70s

Tea, coffee . Fraps it's like swallowing vomit.

This is the other way round, something that should be vile, but strangely, isn't.
Clamato!!
I came across it in Canada.
It's clam juice with tomato juice and I couldn't get enough of the stuff, on its own or in Bloody Marys.

Kombucha, absolutely vile 🤮
