Non-London People: How did you do on the London metro memory game?

I've never lived in London and haven't been there for over a decade. I got 25.7% which I was pretty happy with.

I've now set myself the challenge to better my score just a little bit each day.

Gah! Im not a Londoner but I have spent a lot of time in London! I only got a dismal 20% after half an hour. Can’t believe I didn’t remember Cockfosters!!

That’s really good, OP, if you’ve never lived here ! I got 40% before I realised wasn’t going to have a hope with the overground or Elizabeth Line or the far reaches of the east. I could have got a quite few more if I’d put my mind to it, I think.

Lived and worked in various parts of central and west London all my life so should have got at least the score I did.

I keep putting in the same ones!

I worked through the big mainline terminus stations, then the ones I use for museums and galleries, then the ones i used for work nearly 30 years ago, then I thought about the Monopoly board, then football clubs, where friends live and then just London boroughs I can remember.

I've got a lot of Zone 1, especially the Northern Line. Not very good on the DLR or Overground or Elizabeth. There's a lot where I think I know it, but it's got Park or Broadway or Gate or High or a compass point or something as part of the name. But I did get the Heathrow ones. And there's a couple which are just railway, not underground. I got some of the Essex ones because the names stick in my mind because of the Norman spellings.

I'm amazed anyone can be bothered! 2 hours??

I've added a few this morning, I'm now at 26% and think I'll stop there.

Lifelong Londoner as well and bashed through pretty quickly to 30% then ground to a halt at 45%, though I'll go back at some point and add in a few more, I didn't want to spend more time on it (did 45 minutes).

Glad to see other Londoners didn't do so well either, I was a bit worried about my memory when I was seeing people getting 60 and 70!

Thank god it's not just me! Not life long, just 10 years in and I'm stuck on 31.7%.

It does work offline on the tube though which I was happy about on my morning commute!

If anyone has heard the Tube station song at panto etc, that probably helps....

17.2%, which isn't bad since the last time I was in London was in 1993 (and the last time I was in Britain was 2000).

Currently at 16% but it will not accept King's cross, kings cross, kings cross station - I know it exists.

Lifelong Londoner - 36% on my own and Tube mad DS2 (14) has rattled through a list more to get up to 51% this morning. He's annoyed he can't name more on the circle and district and is sat on the sofa with his eyes closed trying to visualise the map Really struggling with DLR, Metropolitan and Overground!

It won't accept kentish town for some reason.

I had odd things like that - make a note and then put them in later.

I thought I was going nuts with some of the ones they didn't accept!

We have a long train journey in a few days so we'll save it for then (we are Londoners though so at an advantage!)

Can you just remember them at random or do you have to do it in a certain order?

But I've lived west, east and south london so several areas.

the most annoying thing is the ones where you know the station but can't get the names. I know there are 3 Heathrow stations, and I know one is terminal 5, one terminal 4 and one terminal 1,2,3 but took forwever to get it right.

Some with places, it wouldn't accept some names becuase the actual station name is a bit different. Very frustrating
