I'd be inclined to ask who'd want to live in that godawful echo chamber?

DilemmaDelilah · 21/10/2023 08:48

It's just horrible. A triumph of conspicuous expenditure over taste.

Aposterhasnoname · 21/10/2023 08:57

I don’t know but could someone lend me 6.7 million quid please.

MyCircumference · 21/10/2023 08:59

yup, loads of money
but Live Life Laugh
and the bar!

MyCircumference · 21/10/2023 09:00

pop star/record producer

OoohLaLaLa · 21/10/2023 09:02

A footballer who doesn’t read? That book wallpaper!

NigelHarmansNewWife · 21/10/2023 09:06

The answer is someone rich with a cleaner. The AH on the doormat stands for Asterley House, the name of the place. They like a drink, but not reading books.

queenofarles · 21/10/2023 09:12

the furniture could be loaned for the photo shoot , hence the absence of carpets.
even clothes.

MyCircumference · 21/10/2023 09:14

do they even like a drink though - large amount still

You mean any sense of personality or character.

An interior designer did it.

The person who lives there is utterly devoid of a soul or anything actually interesting about themselves.

There’s a walk-in wardrobe full of (male?) clothes in one shot, I think?

ThreeRingCircus · 21/10/2023 09:53

Oh God it's just so awful.

Goes to show that even expensive things can be tacky AF.

Littleredcorvettepurplerain · 20/10/2023 16:27

Is it Amanda Holden? Those chairs look familiar from a Hello type mag feature I once saw. 🤷‍♀️

You might be right. Maybe the giraffes in the garden are a throwback to wild at heart - wasn’t she in that?

MyCircumference · 21/10/2023 10:03

we only get to see the male clothes though

missusvontrap · 21/10/2023 10:04

Not my cup of tea

Schoolchoicesucks · 21/10/2023 10:16

I'd actually quite like to spend an afternoon there, skating about the ground floor in a pair of thick socks. Did they get rid of the pool in the renovation? Obviously would be totally impractical to live there with all that marble, would have broken most of my bones and cracked my head open within a week. Are the wine walls functional storage? Wonder when it would dawn that maybe you had an issue with alcohol...

Choux · 21/10/2023 10:42

I did the search of the house name too and got the companies house page with a director registered there till v recently ie switching registered office ready for a sale. He's 27.

Googling his relatively unusual name shows he has an older brother. There are two bedrooms with stuff on bedside tables. Perhaps both of them live there hence why two different wedding photos on the wall?

One bedroom only has stuff on one bedside table. Perhaps one of the couples has split?

Must get on with my to do list now but I have enjoyed this thread and researching.

Choux · 21/10/2023 10:47

The floor plan shows that there are two other much larger dressing rooms not photographed. One is about 3-4 times the size of the one we have seen.

newnamethanks · 21/10/2023 11:00

Oh dear. Nice giraffes though.

MyCircumference · 21/10/2023 11:05

six bedrooms apparently

No , sometimes real estate companies do this ,
before buying our current house, we saw a lovely property from the outside but very dated from the inside ,80s chintz and frilly valances , it needed a lot of work money , so we declined , anyways it was still on the market couple of years ago , they did a complete soulless beige and grey renovation with gigantic black and white screen printed "Artwork" and shiny hand tufted area rugs , It was depressing , and honestly i preferred the chintzy interiors , it felt like a home.

There’s a walk-in wardrobe full of (male?) clothes in one shot, I think?

Yes , but even clothes are hired to fill in empty wardrobes , even designer bags , cars ,everything!

it’s a big business actually !

charabang · 21/10/2023 14:19

Someone with no taste that's who. Awful!

Taketheplunge · 21/10/2023 23:42

I'd put my money on it belonging to a lottery winner.
Reasons for this are that little care has been taken into the interior design and also the grounds.
If it had been owned by someone who had worked there way to earning millions, they would have become familiar with a taste for nice decor, art, decent grog( see the nasty gin on the bar.
I reckon the owner(s) were in a hurry to get this place " done up" ASAP.

Smurfmurf · 22/10/2023 07:24

It could have been refurbished so beautifully. Such a shame.

Smurfmurf · 22/10/2023 07:27

It’s not Amanda Holden’s house. You can google and see hers as it was up for sale earlier in the year.
