I keep seeing mixed reports. It’s really unsettling not to know.

Here

Shock horror. A country known for lying and trying to cover up their murders are lying about what happened. I can't think what reason they would have to lie though 🤔 Honestly the speed at which people were willing to believe evidence Israel provided was shocking. It would be one thing if they had a history of being reliable but we all know that they don't.

HoogahToogah · 20/10/2023 22:36

Conveniently got audio of Hamas "admitting" it was one of their missiles, but didn't intercept intel or hear a thing about the attack Hamas had been planning for over a year

SomeCatFromJapan · 20/10/2023 22:37

No actually, we have jewish and muslim neighbours who are currently uniting against zionists. And imagine they are on the same page that ethnic cleansing is happening

I was referring to personal beliefs about the conflict, rather than religious beliefs. It's easy enough to find resources "proving" the responsibility lies with whoever you believe it does.

It is worth mentioning that Channel 4 was happy to give Hamas a platform post the 7 October attacks. Osama Hamdan. And he, to say the least, lied his absolute arse off.

I know right. What a stroke of luck!

RoyalImpatience · 20/10/2023 22:41

We won't know for a while who did it.

It's weird how people are forcing evidence to align with what they want.

This is how these things problems start we should all want the truth.

Re checked the source and it’s from i24news if anyones interested in checking it out. It says 10-50 deaths.
Goes without saying that 1 is too many. But bloating the numbers is utter disrespect.
It’s hard to know what to believe though at this point. I think all media have an agenda and none of them can be trusted completely.

It's a single eye-witness report which is an outlier

Think it has to go 'hmm maybe' pile for now

RoyalImpatience · 20/10/2023 22:42

Yes unfortunately reason flies out the window when people align with the if tribe be it lefties or Muslims or Christian or whatever...

It’s good that different sources are finding things(from both sides) . Whilst the truth will never be out , it’s good to see some fake things that we’ve been told

Just seen two news
tel aviv has blocked the humanitarian aid that Biden promised Palestina would get today (sorry no link just saw it in my local Spanish newspaper)
hamas has released 2 hostages
https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2023/oct/20/hamas-us-hostages-released-mother-daughter

Gosh that's awful. I don't know how much longer they can keep going. I saw a video a little while ago of a Dr in Gaza just screaming and crying. It's too much for them. Limited space, limited resources, too many people, limited power etc They just don't have the tools to save people that in normal circumstances could be saved. That combined with the things she must have seen over the past few weeks, the lack of sleep, the fear for her life and the lives of her family. I just can't imagine.

It's so awful, just watching and not being able to do anything. It's incomprehensible.

This guy doesn't agree but he raised a point I had wondered about Israel having people with the right accent in Arabic

On C4 news last night they released info from an NGO that are audio experts - they concluded that the voice recording was studio edited and made from a collage in audio software - something to do with how the voices were recorded on different channels rather than being recorded at the same time.

They also had interesting information from people who used audio of the bomb hitting the site and acoustics info as well as the crater impact shape visualisation stated by two different organisations who work in this field which both stated that their info matched to concur that direction of the bomb seemed to come from the opposite direction to the IDF's stated "Islamic Jihad" area.

swirlingabyss · 21/10/2023 09:13

just realised someone posted this info above already - apologies for repetition

For anyone not paying attention: aid is now moving through the Rafah Crossing. 150 trucks are ready to go if the first batch makes it through to the right places (not diverted by Hamas to fighting forces).

Thank goodness

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 21/10/2023 12:38

It seems like the delay was in convincing Egypt that they could let aid in without letting refugees out into Egypt. And in trying to ensure there was some sort of support on the Gaza side to get the aid to the right place.

It's awful that Israel hasn't agreed to a ceasefire to allow aid to safely enter. I really hope that no one gets hurt. Only about an hour ago Israel were bombing in Rafah. Very brave of them to put their lives at risk for this.

Ratsoffasinkingsauage · 21/10/2023 12:53

@Gruntsandgroans

Where do you have that information from? BBC news reporting operations around Rafah but not on the crossing itself. Challenge seems to be keeping Hamas away from aid trucks.

FOJN · 21/10/2023 13:01

FreeCoathangers · 20/10/2023 14:41

I don't agree with it, however, I will always go back to the 2 state solutions offered to the Arabs, all 6 of them, all of them refused and know it didn't have to be this way, so if one side isn't interested in peace, why should the other?

No one who genuinely believes in a two state solution refers to the Palestinians as Arabs.
