Do we actually know who bombed the hospital in Gaza yet?

I keep seeing mixed reports. It’s really unsettling not to know.

As of today, no.

As at the tail end of a world war when others had just killed 6 million of my kind and I was surrounded my more enemies - I'm not sure.

Do you realise that the IDF also target orthodox religious Jewish people in Israel?
Do you also realised that the Torah forbids Jews to take by force, to murder and to steal, and that the Jews were sent into exile by god? Jewish people are not some great homogeneous mass of people of "my kind" there are many different Jewish communities that have their roots in many different places over several generations, and that they have different opinions, practices and levels of observance to the Torah. Ben-Gurion was not religious. Israel is a modern "liberal state" in name at least and mostly in culture. Ya know...... the liberals you don't like much :)

I don't agree with it, however, I will always go back to the 2 state solutions offered to the Arabs, all 6 of them, all of them refused and know it didn't have to be this way, so if one side isn't interested in peace, why should the other?

Ah, that's brilliant can you tell us some more about the various two state negotiations that have failed. I don't know very much about this, so I would be interested to read.

So are you really using that as an excuse for Israel gaining territory by war? Which is expressly forbidden under the Geneva Conventions? And replacing the existing population with their own people; the very definition of ethnic cleansing.

Are you truly claiming that, because the Palestinians didn't accept a fraction of their territory on offer, that Israel was right to continue to take ever more bites?

Really!

I've been looking up 'Formation of the modern state of Israel' on Wiki.

Yesterday I was saying that Britain had the mandate from 1917, but I was wrong. It was 1922.

Well, that's no answer to OP's first question.

The Israeli government have flouted international laws on genocide quite persistently, but who if anyone is going to enforce this? The UN does nothing because America will not allow it.

Lessstressedhemum · 20/10/2023 17:34

That Amnesty article is utterly, utterly heartbreaking.
The Israeli government and the IDF have being committing war crimes for decades and yet are never held to account. I've never been able to decide if that's because of apathy, because the US won't allow it or because other groups and governments are afraid of being called anti Semitic. But being anti genocide, anti torture, anti indiscriminate slaughter of civilians is very different from being anti-Semitic.

Gruntsandgroans · 20/10/2023 18:12

I've just seen a video of 4 little bodies, along with quite a few adult bodies all wrapped up outside the church that was bombed. It's heartbreaking to think that they would target a place they knew women and children were taking shelter. Those poor families, they know that nowhere they go is safe.

Lessstressedhemum · 20/10/2023 18:51

What kind of mindset attacks a place of worship and sanctuary. That sort of thing always sickens me, no matter the faith or where in the world it happens. The perpetrators of this kind of atrocity are sick.

No actually, we have jewish and muslim neighbours who are currently uniting against zionists. And imagine they are on the same page that ethnic cleansing is happening

The ‘500 dead’ number came from Hamas, literally minutes after the hospital attack happened.
how would they be able to verify how many dead so quickly? Other sources have confirmed only 10 dead from the hospital attack.

Al-Ahli Arab hospital blast: US intelligence report estimates death toll to be 100 to 300 | Gaza | The Guardian

Gaza officials have said at least 471 people were killed in the explosion, with more than 300 wounded

Re checked the source and it’s from i24news if anyones interested in checking it out. It says 10-50 deaths.
Goes without saying that 1 is too many. But bloating the numbers is utter disrespect.
It’s hard to know what to believe though at this point. I think all media have an agenda and none of them can be trusted completely.
