I am of the view that no one is going to win until both sides accept the others right to exist and they take steps to negotiate a peaceful settlement where all can prosper.

This. Someone tell Rishi.

Someone tell Hamas and the Israeli government.

This shit just validates my atheism.

Zonder · 19/10/2023 15:23

You're right @pointythings - someone tell Hamas and the Israeli government.

I may have missed something, but I don't recall Sunak having any plans to visit Israel until Biden announced his visit.

It's like Johnson running to Ukraine repeating itself

You should never miss an opportunity to don a helmet and body armour for a photo obvs.

Meanwhile, £2million of funding to support start ups during covid went to firms linked to Rishi’s wife.

I think we could probably have assumed that anyway.

Grin

Honestly, this government.

"I think transparency is really important for the healthy functioning of democracy, it's absolutely right that there's disclosures around donations and outside interests.

"And transparency is a good thing, and I fully support it."

I bet you can't guess who said this not so long ago? 😏

Prof Angela McLean, now govt chief scientific adviser, described Rishi Sunak as “Dr Death the Chancellor” in whatsapps to Covid expert John Edmunds during pandemic - believed to be in reference to Eat Out to Help Out scheme.

Wow they really did run the country for their own benefit. Following the Mugabe model of national government.

DuncinToffee · 19/10/2023 18:16

Prof John Edmunds, "As I explained to Prime Minister Boris Johnson, we either lockdown now and control the epidemic, or it will force you into a lockdown later, when you'll have to lockdown harder and longer. 20,000-25,000 people died. Some would have, but there's no reason for that many people to have died at all.. There was no strategy, no long term thinking."

Did anybody see that Boris has become an honorary member of the International Democracy Union?

I posted an article earlier today and have since seen the official tweet announcing it, the replies were very funny Grin

Surely there's enough body armour going spare to let Liz Truss elbow her way into the 'peace talks'? I expect she knows what "we want" as well.

RafaistheKingofClay · 19/10/2023 20:07

Best get some body armour for the lettuce as well then.

Labour gain Tamworth. Low turnout at 36%. But overturn 29k majority. Great result 😁😁

Cheguevarahamster · 20/10/2023 03:22

Labour take Mid beds. Fantastic result. 🌹🌹

mibbelucieachwell · 20/10/2023 03:30

Hurrah.

Helped by the Reform party and in Tamworth also by the ukip, presumably taking votes from the cons. Nice to see they're good for something.

IClaudine · 20/10/2023 04:09
