Do you know anyone who has never had Covid?

Most adults I know have had it multiple times, especially people with kids at school. Most kids have had it multiple times. But a lady at work says she and her husband have had it, and they are going to participate in a medical study. And now I just wondered if not having Covid is unusual or whether lots of people have managed to avoid it all this time.

Hiya. Just wondering if anyone has been lucky enough to have foods in uk from other countries before they were even popular or on sale for example when I was in primary school in the late 1970"s one of my friends was American (there was a u.s airbase nearby) and she used to bring in loads of packets of M & M's years before they were available in uk (wasn't that impressed with them they were like Smarties but smaller) and in the late 90's/early 2000's my sister lived in the States and used to send us back packets of Idahoan mashed potatoes - they are lovely and much nicer than Smash etc.🇬🇧🇱🇷

My sister hasn't had it to her knowledge, even when others in her household have. That said, she's had coughs and colds since testing stopped being standard so I guess it's impossible to know for sure.

I’ve never had it and I’m a supermarket worker.

Neither of my sisters have had it and neither had DP or I until I had to go into hospital

OzziePopPop · 05/10/2023 00:33

DH and I haven’t had it, our 2 DC’s have. I am/were ECV so we took and take lots of precautions.

MiniBossFromAus · 05/10/2023 00:36

My mum and dad. They shielded though.

My DS1 - travelled internationally in the height of the pandemic (Aug 2020). Lived in halls at uni but never got it. We think he may have got it very early on in December 2019. He got a terrible illness which looking back was textbook covid. The doctor swabbed him for Flu and it was negative. We are in Australia though and this was before the first officially recorded cases. We will never know.

MariePaperRoses · 05/10/2023 00:43

No one in my family has had it and we are a very large family. No friends or colleagues of my husband have ever had it.

I don't know anyone even a vague acquaintance who has had it.

mrsfollowill · 05/10/2023 00:47

DH & adult DS (who gets the bus every day) - they both work outside the home.-never had it! I WFH mostly (go to the office x 2 a month) had it 3 times! Been really ill and despite sleeping next to DH he hasn't caught it from me. I'm convinced there is something in their DNA - DS is basically DH genetically there is bugger all of me he is just a younger version of his dad.
My mum is vulnerable- nearly 80 and has cancer but she has always been really sensible through never had it. I have always stayed away from her when I'm ill but she is always out and about with other people.

AppleDumplingWithCustard · 05/10/2023 00:47

Me. Which surprises me somewhat as I was vaccinating in a big centre meeting hundreds of people every working day and not vaccinated myself for some time after I started.

Beeswood · 05/10/2023 00:50

My sister, partner and I haven't had it.

Tambatamba · 05/10/2023 00:56

I have never had Covid (yet)

Tambatamba · 05/10/2023 00:58

Actually, one thing that is putting me off going on holiday is the number of people who never got Covid until they went on holiday. A lot of money to spend to be ill for the entire holiday 😩

KohlaParasaurus · 05/10/2023 01:06

My father hasn't had it, nor have my (unvaccinated) son or my oldest daughter and her husband.

burntoutnurse · 05/10/2023 01:07

DP

I've had it four times!

readbooksdrinktea · 05/10/2023 01:08

Several friends and family members.

WanderingWitches · 05/10/2023 01:26

My mum
My dad and brother had it and she had to care for my brother as he's severely disabled. He coughed in her face and everything, but she never tested positive and never even got a sniffle.

octoberfarm · 05/10/2023 01:29

Neither myself nor my kids have had it yet. But we were very careful for a long time (and still are I suppose, as far as possible) - 2 out of 3 of us are immunocompromised.

Honeychickpea · 05/10/2023 01:32

My husband and I have not had it, my three closest friends and their husbands have not had it.

However, none of us have school aged children, and we are all fully vaccinated.

MymateDave · 05/10/2023 01:39

my parents have never had it. They struggle to get about now so only visit the supermarket, doctors. My sister has never had it either. Which is surprising working on the customer service desk at a supermarket.

gwenneh · 05/10/2023 01:43

None of my DC have had it. DH and I had it, and I still suffer from long covid symptoms two years on. The neurological issues it's caused are a nightmare at times, and there's not much help for them, even going private.

LoudestRoar · 05/10/2023 01:57

I've never had it, despite DH and ds2 having it twice, and ds1 having it once. I thought I had it recently as I had some symptoms, but tested negative.

mollscat · 05/10/2023 02:01

I have never tested positive for it, none of my family have.

Hellaweirdhuh · 05/10/2023 03:27

I've never had it. I was in a meeting the other day when the topic came up and 3 other people in the meeting said they hadn't.

Beignet · 05/10/2023 03:44

We were chatting about this yesterday. Both dh and I have never caught it, both worked in people facing roles ( me as a frontline NHS during the pandemic). I've tested regularly but never been positive. Children have had it, slept in bed with us etc whilst ill.

I was pretty relaxed during the shutdown and probably wasn't as strict as I should have been.

Flatandhappy · 05/10/2023 03:48

One of my sons (who worked client facing all though lockdowns as he was an “essential worker”) has never had it, neither have I. I got vaccinated fairly early due to my cancer history and had four doses in all, DS had three doses a little later. DH and DD in the same household with similar vaccination histories both had it, DD twice. No rhyme or reason.
