Genuinely. I've nc for this 😳
I'm on my friends boat and the etiquette is to just have a wee, but I've been told the poo procedure and I....just.....can't

There is no way you should have put the poo in the sea. Wrap it up and take it back home with you. This is what I do on long hikes if I need to go.

The waterboards chuck sewage into the sea regularly that's why water quality is tested daily in our area. It's not illegal any more for them to do this in extremis

Wow that's a posh toilet for a boat, spacious too. I'm more used to a tiny cassette square where your nose touches the door if you can close it. You can poo in it though, just need to empty said cassette when it's full. Bleugh.

I’m guessing they possibly ask you not to poo in the toilet to avoid releasing human waste into the water? Which makes your stealth, overboard hand cradled poo a bit obsolete?

Story seems unlikely. Why would you poo into the toilet and then fish it out of dirty water with your bare hands when you could have just put down the lid and made a little toilet paper cushion on top to poo straight onto, wrapped it up in more toilet paper etc and then at least not had to touch your actual poo fishing it out with your bare hands?

It’s probably a sea toilet. It should only be used offshore, not in marinas. People don’t like raw sewage floating in marinas.

But you do have a point, because that’s where the poo ended up anyway.
