I wanted a Mr Frosty but never got one because they were shit.

My brother had the mini Cadbury vending machine. My mum could never afford the mini bars to refill it. Although I seem to remember them not even being available to buy at one point.

I wanted a Mr Frosty. Never got one. 😭

My DC want Air Up bottles. They will never get them. 😂

puffyisgood · 25/09/2023 00:01

frosty was terrible. it was incapable of crushing/grinding/whatever ice cubes that were were any bigger than pea sized.

LadyLolaRuben · 25/09/2023 00:02

Never got a Mr Frosty due to the mess the food colouring would make apparently

UpsyDaisysarmpit · 25/09/2023 00:02

Another one here who longed for Mr Frosty. Got one for my kids and yes it was crap! 😂

Pussygaloregalapagos · 25/09/2023 00:03

A sonic ear so you can listen to peoples conversations across the street.

Still am a nosy parker!

American girl doll

dontgobaconmyheart · 25/09/2023 00:16

I wanted Mr. Frosty, asked over more than one Christmas for it and never got it. My mum (quite rightly to be fair) identified it as a gimmick that wouldn't really get used, especially since I didn't even like slushies and held firm, the grinch.

We did get the Cadbury 'vending machine' though, but in practice I'm not sure it was any more practical.

Other than the Mr. Frosty we pretty much gor what we asked for (within budget) so it really stood out.

A real pony

OnTheRunWithMannyMontana · 25/09/2023 00:21

I wanted a furby 😭

Mudflaps · 25/09/2023 00:27

Buckaroo! The horse/mule you load items on to until it bucks them off. I asked Santy for it but he couldn't read my writing and brought me a pirate based board game called Buccaneer which was way too advanced for me... my family laughed about this for years after I'd grown up, I actually bought myself one a few years ago and it's great fun as a drinking game but it still stings.

ALongHardWinter · 25/09/2023 00:33

A real pony.

NotMyFinestMoment · 25/09/2023 00:34

A Speak and Spell, a portable pretend Post Office and a fluffy toy puppy that barked and walked on a lead. Unfortunately I never got any of them. However, I just did a search of toys from the 80's and retro toys on Amazon and have just added the Speak and Spell and toy post office to my shopping basket for later...😉

MrsTerryPratchett · 25/09/2023 00:35

I had a Cadbury's vending machine. It was as awesome as you'd think.

tweetypi · 25/09/2023 00:35

Mr Frosty
The mini oven that baked fairy cakes
A drum kit

All lusted after in the Argos catalogue!

RicherThanYews · 25/09/2023 00:42

I had a Cadburys vending machine but wasn't bought refills (I loved it though). I had a Mr Frosty but never tried making slushies, just ice lollys and weird vague ice cubes. I also had the portable Post Office and oh my days I played with that until it fell apart (might buy another if I can find vintage).

Always wanted a Cabbage Patch Kid but never had one, idk why but perhaps they were hard to get hold of in the 1990s.

Sosbanfachtheresatellyinmybath · 25/09/2023 00:51

Never got the al a carte kitchen, but my sister did 😕

I always wanted a pair of green frog wellies that were popular in the 80s, never got those either 😢

Ihateslugs · 25/09/2023 00:56

I wanted a pogo stick one year but did not get it. My parents bought it for me the following year when the craze had passed! This happened a lot as money was tight and my parents had to save up for the big presents, they did their best though and I did appreciate the gift.

mathanxiety · 25/09/2023 00:58

Roller disco skates. Still not sure what the issue was there. The girl across the road was out at 7 on Christmas morning on hers. The envy...

Nat6999 · 25/09/2023 01:04

A Sindy Superhome & all the furniture, the Range Rover, Caravan & one of her horses. I've
started collecting as an adult & am buying everything I didn't get as a child.

flosset · 25/09/2023 01:05

Sylvanian families - they were too expensive

A tin pram (old style silver cross prams) a lot of people in Ireland were still using them for real babies in the early 90s

Failingatthemoment · 26/09/2023 12:39
