I've got two Hello Fresh recipes and I don't fancy either of them. DS is having tea at his friend so it's just me and DH. Today is payday. What should we have?? What are you having??

OP posts:

Beef and onion casserole with dumplings and steamed carrots and brocoli, rhubarb crumble and custard for pudding

Seahorsemama · 22/09/2023 20:59

Lamb
steaks, mini roasted potatoes, broccoli and gravy - it was yum!

Pallisers · 22/09/2023 21:01

mushroom risotto, garlic bread, baked prosciutto and spinach salad.

AdoraBell · 23/09/2023 17:15

No clue for tonight. Had scrambled eggs with tomatoes from the garden for lunch.

DontGiveMeThatOldCrap · 23/09/2023 17:16

Chilli Con Carne here

TheClitterati · 23/09/2023 17:49

Spicy noodles with chicken & vege.

MNetcurtains · 23/09/2023 18:00

Made a beef Stroganoff with rice and an onion and lettuce salad.

PickAChew · 23/09/2023 18:08

A slow cooked lamb curry with chickpeas and spinach.

The boys are having burgers. One doesn't like lamb and neither like curry!

MNetcurtains · 23/09/2023 18:19

Everything above sounds yummy.

Spiced rice with lamb, I'm sure it's got a traditional name but I can't remember it. It's a Pakistani one pot dish and is amazing!!!
My uni friend's gran taught me to make it about 25years ago and the smells take me back to lovely times in her wee kitchen with my friend, who has since passed away. I often wonder if her wee gran is still alive but lost contact with the wider family after friend's death.

I'm gonna need the recipe! Please DM me!

I've made a spag bol, everyone (including me) has commented that it's a rubbish Saturday night tea so we're saving it for tomorrow and having what we fancy instead:

ME: hash browns & eggs
DH: fresh pasta with salami
DS: pesto pasta

If I can be bothered, I might turn the spag bol into a lasagne but we'll see how tomorrow pans out!

AdoraBell · 23/09/2023 20:06

Went out, pub dinner, venison casserole with veg and mashed potatoes. Bloody delicious 😋

I don't understand how the spag bol was considered a bad option, given what they opted for. shrug

Some lovely things on here. Tonight we had basa fillets with new potatoes, carrots and cabbage. The kids also had McCain smiley faces but I don't like that kind of food.

AdoraBell · 25/09/2023 19:30

Picky bits tonight from freezer. Need to clear the freezer.

Ham, cheese and tomatoes from the garden. Used ham for lunch, pasta and tomato sauce with the fresh tomatoes.

CBA to really plan so I’ll just see what’s in there tomorrow.

AlwaysPrettyOnTheInside · 26/09/2023 13:07

Greek salad and some chicken or chicken and veg soup but I'm fancying pasta bake, although I'm supposed to be off the carbs.

BooAutumniscoming · 26/09/2023 13:13

I'm off work sick so have a bit more time than I usually would mid-week, so I am going to make the JO chicken curry tray bake - simple but delicious.

MNetcurtains · 26/09/2023 14:40

Slow cooked lamb shanks, mash, and grilled Mediterranean veg.

Hellokittymania · 26/09/2023 14:45

I love these types of threads, they’re very comforting when you’re having a shit day. I live in central Greece, and I am having a very rough day, buyers remorse, we’re expecting another storm, my home was flooded quite badly in the last one three weeks ago, and I’m just very jittery and very upset. Anyway, I’m having minestrone soup, and for tomorrow if it storms and the power goes out, I bought some meatballs and french fries. And just add, not quite dinner time yet, but I have a hot chocolate with strawberry, it’s actually really nice. When I was having a difficult time at the beginning of the year, I found out there is a coffee shop that does different flavored hot chocolate… So I used to get this one and go to the sea front and read.

BooAutumniscoming · 27/09/2023 11:37

Steak pie for tea tonight. Taking advantage of the time I have off work and doing recipes that are usually too long to do mid week.

AlwaysPrettyOnTheInside · 27/09/2023 11:43

I could really go for a pie today. No carbs for me though. I also feel like a nice goulash, with lovely bread and butter, but none of that for me either. I really miss Eat.s goulash, I used to love that.

Pork chop and salad for me today though 😛

Lsquiggles · 27/09/2023 11:58

Sausage, mash and veg for us tonight - not the most exciting thing ever but one of the only meals fussy DD will eat lately

LuluLemony · 27/09/2023 12:01

Steak fajitas for us tonight. I'm already looking forward to them!
