I've got two Hello Fresh recipes and I don't fancy either of them. DS is having tea at his friend so it's just me and DH. Today is payday. What should we have?? What are you having??

Friday night is always pizza night in our house, just Aldi ones not a takeaway! So pizza and chips and salad. Friday night is also family film / games night so we've got chocolates and crisps and dips for later. And a bottle of wine 😂

VeridicalVagabond · 22/09/2023 17:08

We're having honey mustard chicken, horseradish mash and veggies. It's been pissing down and miserable all day and I fancied something warming and autumnal.

PauliesWalnuts · 22/09/2023 17:11

Last night’s leftover fish pie for me.
@Greensleeves - what’s in chilli cheese pasties? They sound awesome.

DS has brought couscous he made at college. Had a quick spoonful before and it's lovely - he says it contains turnip, chickpeas, cabbage, tomato and onion. Doubt any of the rest of my lot will eat it - they all had lovely things for lunch anyway while I was stuck wfh and ended up with sausage, potato and cabbage for that meal.

Dontcallmescarface · 22/09/2023 17:16

It's payday so a Chinese takeaway tonight.

TheChippendenSpook · 22/09/2023 17:18

Sausage, mash and beans tonight for me.

NotFastButFurious · 22/09/2023 17:19

Pasta with tomato sauce with bacon, mushrooms and peppers (from the freezer stocks), garlic bread and salad.

devildeepbluesea · 22/09/2023 17:20

Fish and chips en route for us too.

Ostryga · 22/09/2023 17:20

I’m having one pan salmon - baby potatoes., asparagus, green beans and broccoli tossed in mustard, garlic, maple syrup and lemon juice roasted for 15 mins, stick a bit of salmon on top and back in for another 10ish.

Dd is having the other fillet cubed and flour/egg/breadcrumbed, fried with baby potatoes and broccoli.

UnravellingTheWorld · 22/09/2023 17:20

Fish and chips for us. (homemade) chips go in the air fryer, fish in the oven. Easy peasy

Hedjwitch · 22/09/2023 17:22

Chicken drumsticks marinated in lime and honey and soy sauce. With coleslaw if i can be bothered

WhiteSandyBeach · 22/09/2023 17:23

Fish pie. Had a long, free afternoon. Actually resolved to batch cook next time and make one for the freezer too

kitchenplans · 22/09/2023 17:23

We're having "white beans with leeks and pancetta" according to the meal planner. I've got to admit, it doesn't sound that appealing to me at this very moment, but I'm hoping when I go back into my meal planning/recipe app it looks better than it sounds, as I must have chosen it for a reason!

Nannyfannybanny · 22/09/2023 17:24

It's dinner here in Sussex. Have got to collect DGS from 5 miles away,so am bunging fish and chips in the oven before I go, looking forward to a glass of wine when I get back home.

It's just shortcrust pastry with chilli con carne layered with a mixture of cheddar and Parmesan, egg washed with another sprinkle of cheese on top. Stodgy but very filling and warming for being on a windy pier at night!

Whattheduck · 22/09/2023 17:37

Dd at work and Dh gone out with his brother so I’m having chip shop chips with cheese and beans been a long week and I can’t be bothered to cook just for myself plus I want comfort food

Songlines · 22/09/2023 17:43

Neighbours have just opened a takeaway Cafe and do end of day offers which they'll bring to my door. I'm having a bacon, chicken and avocado baguette, a pot of homemade coleslaw and a homemade apricot flapjack. All for under a fiver ( and they're there'll be leftovers for lunch)

APurpleSquirrel · 22/09/2023 17:45

It's New Food Friday - so DD has chosen a recipe out of a Jamie Oliver cookbook called Christmas Pasta - basically sausage, bacon, chestnuts, sage & pasta.

MrsMarzetti · 22/09/2023 18:10

It's Friday so it was fish.

Sounds delicious. I love gyoza!

"Spicy rice"
Roasted onions, peppers, courgettes and garlic seasoned with fajita spice mix stirred into cooked rice and peas. Grated cheese, toasted seeds and chilli sauce to go with. Sometimes we have it in tacos or tortillas with guacamole and lettuce but not tonight.

Trying a new dish of fish finger bhorta which was delicious and new way to use fish fingers. Served with homemade coriander flatbreads and a tomato & cucumber salad
