I know it's been endlessly mentioned, but it still for me has to be the Kat and Zoe scene from Eastenders : "You ain't my mother! " "Yes, I am!"

OP posts:

The emotional scene when Ronnie returned Baby Tommy to Kat in Eastenders 😢

Rockschooldropout · 22/09/2023 19:20

Sonia in Labour in Eastenders screaming “I’m dying!” And Mo saying “no you’re not love you’re aving a baby !”
Michelle going to the phone box to ring the father of her baby in Eastenders
Mike Baldwin dying in Ken Barlow arms in Corrie

FrazzledMCPremenopausalWoman · 22/09/2023 21:18

The episode of EastEnders with just Steve and Mel in the E20 for the full show

Not so much the scene but the most beautiful bit of acting I've ever seen. Eastenders, Ben falling to the ground when he found out Lucy had died, it was the most guttural howl of pain I'd ever heard.

David Platt has had some great one liners over the years. Also Ross Barton in Emmerdale.

Cudz · 22/09/2023 21:43

Does anyone remember the "bubbly is in the fridge" meltdown on eastenders? Love that scene so much!

HiCandles · 22/09/2023 21:46

The night Sharon and Dennis got it on, shortly before Dirty Den's return. I was an impressionable teenager and thought it very raunchy!
And Dennis' subsequent stabbing on NYE, I think or Christmas Eve. Broke my heart, I loved those two.

Who shot JR. Was a massive massive story. Talked about for months before the culprit was revealed.

splishsplash3 · 22/09/2023 21:47

'You should have stayed at the party Maxine' BASH

Zoomdoom · 22/09/2023 21:48

The scene just before Aiden killed himself on Corrie, still gives me the chills and makes me sad.

Blanche at the AA meeting in Corrie.

That was hysterically funny. Blanche was brilliant 😆😆

Amblesidebadger · 22/09/2023 21:52

Free Deidre Rasheed!

PuppyMonkey · 22/09/2023 21:55

I don’t think people who watch soaps now quite understand what they once were to us. It was about character and writing. Not Explosions and murder. The everyday.

Woman, Stanley. Woman.

it was so superb. Perfect.

Ladybird69 · 22/09/2023 21:55

Mine was when Moira and Charity were arguing in Emmerdale and then Moira head butted Charity 🤣 if you’ve never seen it you gotta find it on YouTube

Justleaveitblankthen · 22/09/2023 21:57

'Free George Jackson' came long before the Deidre campaign.
Marie's husband George sent down for murder when he was innocent.

I can remember how horrified I was.
Pretty sure tears flowed and I couldn't wait for the Saturday omnibus 😂

redmalt · 22/09/2023 21:58

Janine pushing Barry off a cliff in Eastenders

Stomacharmeleon · 22/09/2023 21:59

Two have stayed with me for different reasons....
When frank turned up at pat's with his bow tie twizzling round naked at the front door..(eastenders)

I watched Corrie with my mum and brother as a kid. I had terrible nightmares for months after watching the episode when the rovers caught fire and Bet was trapped. She was saved by a Randy Kevin Webster kissing sally and he saw the fire out of the corner of his eye.

God it frightened me.

MariaVT65 · 22/09/2023 22:06

Who shot Phil!

MariaVT65 · 22/09/2023 22:06

Also Dennis from Eastenders is hot and I’m excited for Strictly this year

Milkbottlewaffle · 22/09/2023 22:08

Me too. I came to say Kat Slater
What an incredible moment.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 22/09/2023 22:17

I haven't watched soaps for years and years, but grew up watching them with my mum and I carried on into my early twenties. Remember so many of these, some wonderful writing and acting (maybe wouldn't include Bobby Ewing dream sequence in that 😂). No idea what the quality is like know, but when I gave up I was fed up with weak sensationalist, poorly thought out plots. Growing up, characters and storylines seemed to develop over time, and that didn't seem to be the case any longer.

Mangofandangoo · 22/09/2023 22:19

'You're not my mother....yes I aaaaaaaam'

HeartshapedFox · 22/09/2023 22:20

“I love you Gail!” Ruined that song for me forever 😂

NotFastButFurious · 22/09/2023 15:17

I clicked on this thinking it was going to be about washing your hands 😁 it's been a long week.......

Me too. I was going to mention the "interactive art installation" at a local museum - a large female bust made of soap by the sink in the loo which people were encouraged to use to wash their hands.

The scene just before Aiden killed himself on Corrie, still gives me the chills and makes me sad.

Absolutely this

Mindovermatter247 · 22/09/2023 22:29

There’s a few in eastenders for me as that’s the only soap I watched religiously, I don’t really watch it anymore only an episode here or there when someone else has it on.

the kat and Zoe ‘ you ain’t my mother’
obviously when den presented the divorce papers
when Tanya finds out about max and Stacey
the whole Phil, Sharon and grant triangle broadcast in the pub
when frank ran over Tiffany
when den came back from the dead
when Jamie Mitchell was killed by Martin

i also remember watching when Nigel drove the platts into the lake.canal in Corrie
