Continuation of previous threads (thread 9).

Although the nights are gradually drawing in, the new lair of JTT escapees is all cosy and homey inside. The hearth is glowing, the walls covered in dubious artwork, books by non-approved authors line the shelves, rugs are down on the floors (and assorted pets curled up on them).

We just won’t mention the gnawed bones of our prey over there in the corner of the cave…

Pulling up a pew very quietly. I've been lurking for a while, very Halloweenily...

Hello @mathanxiety! Are you an ExTalk lurker or MN lurker? Either way, welcome Flowers

@Kucinghitam wow, I didn’t know you were an artist! They’re fabulous.

@Tricyrtis2022 I’d just ignore his next contact since you’re only in sporadic contact anyway. He’ll get the message eventually.

Tricyrtis2022 · 26/09/2023 18:21

Reading back what I wrote there, I'm asking myself why it all went on so long. I suppose it's that we knew each other so long that he was almost like a brother, so I put up with him.

Tricyrtis2022 · 26/09/2023 18:22

@CyanCrystalViolet I shall certainly be doing that!

Those are lovely pictures, kuc. If there's anything local that inspires you, it might be fun to give it a go. Or paint some fun science-y stuff!

Kucinghitam · 26/09/2023 18:35

Oh hello and welcome @mathanxiety!

Thanks @Gonners and @Tricyrtis2022 and @CyanCrystalVioletBlush The last time I properly "did" Art formally was age 15 or so. Then I had to choose Science stream or Arts stream in school, and that was the end of art for me, except as a stress-relieving hobby when I'd do a bit of sketching or colouring. I didn't start painting again until lockdown, when DH bought me a set of watercolours as a birthday present.

Lovely pictures Kuc.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 26/09/2023 18:48

Those are lovely, Kuc!

Hello, @mathanxiety pull your pew up to the fire and pour yourself a drink. Do I deduce from your name that you're over on the west side of the pond?

MmePoppySeedDefage · 26/09/2023 19:02

I agree those are lovely pictures Kuc. I particularly like the colour - a lot of pictures of places are a little timid and pale but those stand out, and the colours are attractive. Plus I think there's lot of skill showing in the drawing and especially in the perspective. Go for it, in the sense of go back. What's the worst that can happen? If you don't ask, you don't get.

duc748 · 26/09/2023 23:12

And great pix, Kuc! 😀

Pixiedust1234 · 26/09/2023 23:31

I only visit once in a while to see any kitty pictures (sadly lacking in this thread), but those pictures are lovely. Would make great jigsaw puzzles too 😉

CyanCrystalViolet · 27/09/2023 00:41

Did someone say kitty pictures? 🙀

Those are most excellent kitty pictures.

duc748 · 27/09/2023 01:00

Definitely one of the world's most photogenic cats!

Pixiedust1234 · 27/09/2023 01:18

ZOMG, those paws!! 🙀❤

MouseMinge · 27/09/2023 03:39

@Kucinghitam the people in the shop were right. I really like architectural water colours/pen and ink/a mix of both and those are as good as any I've seen, better than many because your colour work is so vivid. I'd buy them.

@CyanCrystalViolet <sigh> more photos of your ugly cat who isn't at all photogenic, kissable and a floof who makes me want to bury my nose in all that fur for cuddles and purring. I don't want to kiss those beans either. Oh no. No sir, not me.

The gorgeousness makes me want to squee.

angelico53 · 27/09/2023 07:39

Morning all. Wonderful art, talented kuc!

Can we have a WW3 update, duc?

Kucinghitam · 27/09/2023 08:36

@CyanCrystalViolet Can I just squeeeeee at your ridiculously gorgeous adorable cat? He must surely be the most photogenic cat in history!

My contribution is not-my-cat CB and her floofy belly. (Yes, she is still visiting at least twice a day).

Thanks again to everyone for your lovely comments about my paintings Blush

I like your paintings, Kuc! They're most certainly saleable and I agree that you should try to sell them.

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 27/09/2023 10:25

I reckon there's also a good market for that Kasper's paws photo.

MavisMcMinty · 27/09/2023 14:13

Having managed to spend £120 I can’t spare on things I won’t receive until next month (Liberty’s advent calendar and Glinner’s book), I have managed to miss the decent weather and my dog-walk will be in the middle of Storm Agnes. I accidentally threw a really good ball into a tree hanging over the river a few weeks ago, and while I usually manage to dislodge them with a well-aimed rock or branch, this one is just too high and too far away to get at. I showed macman and told him to take his long ladders into the woods (his drain rods have disappeared) but he hasn’t and I just BET Agnes will knock the - really excellent - ball into the river and that’ll be that, it’ll be bobbing around in the sea by morning.

Also, just wanted to say that as I’m unlikely to ever be eaten by a polar bear/tiger/crocodile/shark - what a brilliant dramatic way to go! - I’d actually be quite happy to be killed by a falling tree, it’d be unusual, a talking point, I’d probably get into the newspapers, please don’t pity me, it’d be instant. There’s usually at least one fallen tree in the woods after any storm. Beeches in particular seem to have very shallow roots. IT COULD HAPPEN!

weaseleyes · 27/09/2023 15:28

I knew someone who was killed by a falling tree. I wouldn't recommend it. The details were kept a little fuzzy by his family, but there was some suggestion he wasn't killed outright and it was a while before he was found.

In happier news, Kuc's pictures are brilliant.

Here is my cat contribution for the day: the sheer contempt she feels when I am late getting her breakfast!

All quiet on the Western front, @angelico53 . Which is how I want it, obv.

Mind you, it is raining, so I wouldn't expect any different.

MavisMcMinty · 27/09/2023 17:02

Nice antler, @weaseleyes !
