IClaudine** can I be the first to congratulate you on the fact you are personally going to fuck the economy by 2070? WinkHmmGrin

As an aside anyone else finding those promoting and protecting the Tory's becoming increasingly patronising towards those who disagree with them. There's an absolute undercurrent of "if you aren't Conservative, won't bite conservative - you're thick"

Thank you!

Those two posters are deeply annoying.😠

BIossomtoes · 30/09/2023 21:05

Beyond annoying. Way, way beyond annoying.

Notonthestairs · 30/09/2023 21:20

Catching up. I've been around the M25 today - a reminder if needed at the poor state of our infrastructure. Vast potholes and fissures on slip roads that encourage drivers to veer off to avoid them. We'd have used the trains but there wasn't a service.

Aside from the deeply unpleasant personal nature of some posts, I applaud the patronising posters. They reveal themselves all too clearly.

But we've been at a memorial service today and I've been reminded of the kindness and generosity of the vast majority of people of all ages.

That said us thickos should probably get back to our turnips Wink

IClaudine · 30/09/2023 21:31

I am just having a large glass of turnip wine to de-stress 😁.

Shock

We are moving so quickly away from democracy and free speech.

How long before we start reporting lots of people falling from windows? (And I'm only half jesting Angry)

BREAKING: Jeremy Hunt has been caught in a secret recording during a private meeting with Tory activists suggesting that Sunak will call a general election once inflation has fallen below three per cent - giving the strongest hint yet that a poll will be held next autumn.

The same happened with the chemical weapons expert recently

My money’s still on May. He’ll be frit of another catastrophic set of local election results.

pointythings · 30/09/2023 21:31

Yes I am.

Katharinablumwasinnocent · 30/09/2023 21:59

@Piggywaspushed you’re exactly right. A’level German text back in the 80s about the media destroying the reputation of a woman who allegedly had a dalliance with a guy in the Red Army Faction 🤔

cakeorwine · 30/09/2023 21:59

People not being allowed to speak at conferences because they have criticised the Government.

That sounds like cancellation to me....But what do I know?

It sounds Orwellian to me.

I wonder how the economy will be doing?

Its kind of optimistic of them to think that inflation is going to fall that far within the time available for a GE.

Hope is all they’ve got left.

I might just sit on this thread in despair at how the environment, public transport and well, everything is just being thrown under the private jet in the hopes that they can scrape a few extra votes.

ThatbloodyRoblox · 30/09/2023 22:44

Who is that chica person ? Confused
Well done those who took them on.

Cornettoninja · 01/10/2023 09:41

Rishi on LK - I can’t help but feel it’s dense to sit there after LK just pointed out that he’s sitting in no. 10 after zero democratic process wanging on about doing what he feels is right even if people disagree with him. So ‘mandates from the British people’ don’t mean anything anymore then? He’s basically embracing dictatorship then?

Roussette · 01/10/2023 09:49

I did watch it. And good to see LK holding him to account, but given her huge affection for BJ, hardly surprising.

He just kept going on about doing what the people wanted. Yeah right... Hmm

Cornettoninja · 01/10/2023 10:02

He just kept going on about doing what the people wanted.

and every time he said it he sounded more and more out of touch imho.

I did enjoy the word cloud though Grin from his point of view at least he didn’t get called a twat and a cunt this time so I suppose that’s a win…

The News Agents latest podcast is an investigation on people smugglers. I'll have a listen to it later in the week

Govt confirms that new Brexit border checks on imports from EU to cost business £330m a year via @FT …though govt tried to present as £520m ‘saving’ to @stellacreasy /1

The checks are one of 20 new major policy changes between now and the end of 2024 that will impact British companies that trade internationally, according to a report last week published by the Institute of Export & International Trade. @IOExport /2
