I don't know what to think, this is kind of mixed in with rape and gross age gap stuff. I don't know if the consensual ill advised stuff dilutes the rape allegations? In the power?

The NME Awards also played host to one of the weirdest beefs of all time: Russell Brand vs Bob Geldof. Things got heated at the 2006 ceremony, with Brand deciding to taking a pop Sir Bob as he presented Geldof (collecting for Live 8) with an award for Best Music DVD. “Please welcome to the stage Sir Bobby Gandalf everybody”, he scoffed, to which Geldof replied with “Russell Brand, what a c**t.” The beef didn’t stop there. When Brand returned to the stage, he quipped: “Really, it’s no surprise that he’s such an expert on famine. He has been dining out on ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ for 30 years.”

I think rape was basically normalised pre-2010. Don't get me wrong it has always been illegal. But if you listen to some of the laughing at his really dark stand up... There's definitely been an absolutely massive cultural shift

Brand introduced him in some mocking way, I think he called him Bobby Gandalf or something, and then Geldof said the 'cunt' thing. Then Brand made some remark about Geldof when he left the stage again, about him knowing so much about famine because he'd been dining out on 'I don't like Mondays for years'.

I don't know about Russell Brand, but Noel Fielding was dating Pixie Geldof when she was 16 and he was 33 (apparently. although he says they were 'just friends')

The question shouldn't be 'Why didn't these women report him before?' It should be 'Why didn't Channel 4 and other media organisations do something about this when he was one of their darlings?' It makes me wonder who is being employed by media and arts organisations now and is being enabled in this behaviour.

Excellent point. There were a lot of people who knew about Brand and allowed him to continue

Does anyone think its a bit weird that its announced there's a programme on Channel 4 that's been in the making for a few years. Very strange.

It is. It doesn't make sense to me.

As somebody who has been sexually assaulted, I don't believe a word of it. It just isn't ringing true to me.
Don't get me wrong, I can’t stand Russell Brand. Can't stand him! So this isn't a case of denial or anything, I just don't believe it. It smacks of a huge vendetta met with a bandwagon of women with scores to settle.

Also, if anyone had done enough to fill a 90 min documentary with evidence then how on earth has there been no arrest? Not even any questioning? Not one of them went to Police?

@Clefable, I'll always believe a woman about sexual assault but the drooling slam dunked it for me. If you understand anything about rape, you understand its not about sex for the perpetrator.
