I'm not above gossip and rumours but I've never understood people getting so emotionally invested over people where whats released is usually PR spin anyway hence the newer meet your idols and the random bombshells where a celebrity has done something and people exclaim I never thought they'd do that?!?! With nothing to base it on

The only one who needs to get a grip is you. You sound like you're frothing at the mouth, love. Literally no one used the word "devastated" and you're far more worked up than any of us are. You don't have to know someone to feel sad for them that their marriage is ending.

For some reason, I feel very sad about this. They seemed to be so happy and together as a couple but you never know.

Crazy to care about a celebrity couple, but I respected Jackman for sticking by his long time wife and not leaving her for a younger model. That will be the next story.

Whether it was a "proper " marriage or not, they have managed to remain good friends for decades and appear to have nothing but love ( platonic or not) and respect for each other.
Anything other than that is their business and not ours.

Well, I have read rumours about his marriage, mainly his sexual orientation, for years so I would not say this is a huge surprise.

I just hope the spilt is amicable, especially for the sake of their kids.

After all whatever relationship they had is their business and he should not have to share anything about his private life that he is not comfortable sharing.

I love Hugh, I went to see him at the O2 a few years ago, it was the campest night ever, and the bits when he went on about loving his wife was so obviously inserted with a huge wink. Anyway, I wish them both well, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this has something to do with tomorrow’s revelations. Schofe 2:0 sadly

I have no doubt that he loved his wife. They are many different types of love..

It is perfectly possible that they had/have a wonderful friendship/ partnership/emotional connection but that he is physically attracted to men.

If it worked for over 20 years for them then who are we to judge...

People are complex.

On the other hand it would be horrific if this had to do with whatever is coming out tomorrow...I would never have thought of him as anything other than a nice guy.

I'm on another website discussing it and people who have worked with Hugh on multiple films are swearing he is without a doubt NOT gay. So who knows...

Lots of rumours that he is gay and in a long term relationship with another man and his wife knew and the arrangement suited her. Hard to know really I always thought those rumours were because people just couldn't fathom why a movie star would be with a much older woman although she was and is a beautiful woman. Look at Guy Pearce who always went on about how much he loved his first wife and how they didn't want kids then in his late 40's dumps her goes off with a younger woman and has a baby within a year.

I was also shocked when Noel Gallagher and his wife Sara split I always thought they looked so loved up in photos but you never really know, perhaps they were just good at putting on a show?

It could be the age gap, I have a friend who's wife is 14 years older than him, he is also 54 and while they are still together and have no plans to separate he says it is very difficult at times now and he is only able to cope because he works away much of the time, not very nice perhaps but I think it is his honest opinion.
