..and had to keep it in your house for a week and you didn't my have a safe, where would you put it? Hypothetically.....

Taped behind a mirror

LoseLooseLucy · 12/09/2023 18:30

Hmmm 🤔 probably in a suitcase on the top of the wardrobe.

StEtienne93 · 12/09/2023 18:31

In the loft.

YoSof · 12/09/2023 18:32

If you have a bedside table or chest of drawers, take the bottom drawer out and put the cash underneath before putting the drawer back.

ditalini · 12/09/2023 18:33

Taped under the bottom drawer of my chest of drawers.

Or on the floor under the chest of drawers with a piece of carpet on top cut to fit if I had a remnant.

Or in a bag stuffed at the back of the airing cupboard.

FiloPasty · 12/09/2023 18:33

Probably somewhere I deemed to be safe at the time but then I’d forget and spend the next 6 months looking for it!

LaundryWoes · 12/09/2023 18:33

I’d split it up. One portion somewhere relatively ‘obvious’ like underwear drawer. Then the rest in a makeup bag in a suitcase, a cardboard box in the boiler cupboard, inside a towel in the airing cupboard, inside a board game box.

JaneJeffer · 12/09/2023 18:33

Are you searching for it or have some cash you want to hide (hypothetically speaking of course Wink)?

uncomfortablydumb53 · 12/09/2023 18:34

Taped to the back of a picture frame on the wall

AbbeyGailsParty · 12/09/2023 18:42

In the loft underneath the insulation stuff.

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 18:43

@FiloPasty Can soooo relate

It's weird- I really didn't think I'd be worried about this, but.....

And I've hardly handled cash for ages-apart for a couple of quid to buy eggs...

wetpebbles · 12/09/2023 18:47

In a metal box under the floorboards

AldiDupes · 12/09/2023 18:49

Slotted into different books.

JaneJeffer · 12/09/2023 18:52

Hide it under the teabags. Someone will find it eventually if you forget it's there.

C1N1C · 12/09/2023 18:54

Under the cat litter box

JaukiVexnoydi · 12/09/2023 18:55

I would divide it into at least 5 portions and put each portion somewhere different - number of portions would be number of places I could think of

Let's see...

One in the lowest big dish in the stack of big dishes we only use at Christmas

One in the big cake tin we only use when there's a big birthday party.

One in an envelope in the gap at the back of the big reference books on the top shelf.

One in the gap between the bath panel and the bath.

One under a loose floorboard.

Could probably think of a few more.

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 12/09/2023 18:57

I would hide it in my wellies

TooOldForAllThisNonsense · 12/09/2023 18:57

Where nobody would ever find it - the bottom of the pile of ironing in the basket

NonMiDispiace · 12/09/2023 18:58

I’d wrap it up and bury it in the freezer or in the compost bin.

CornedBeef451 · 12/09/2023 18:58

Oddly when we moved in last year I found a tiny safe built into the kitchen floor. It's very damp and no key so I wouldn't hide it there.

Thinking about it now I should probably find out why it's damp.

I think I'd hide cash behind the chest of drawers inside my wardrobe. It would be a pain to get out again but at least it would be safe.

fiddlesticksandotherwords · 12/09/2023 19:00

Zipped inside a cushion cover, and put with other cushions into a vacuum storage bag, vacuumed flat and then put in the loft under a pile of teddy bears.

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 19:01

Wellies is a good idea- but I'd forget and put them on and break my toe....

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 19:02

@CornedBeef451 you must do a live safe opening- I cab't wait!

In the freezer. In an opaque plastic box labelled ‘placenta’.

Taped to the underside of the toilet cistern lid, with good waterproof tape in a sealed waterproof plastic bag.

In an envelope taped inside to door, above the door in our dark unlit cupboard under the stairs

In the baking tin of the currently out of use bread maker
