Inside a rolled up pair of socks in a drawer full of identical pairs of socks,....trust me, it will take your relatives months to find it....

@Seychal Thank you! That is such a good idea!

It's inside a loaf isn't it?

InternetE3plorer · 12/09/2023 20:34

I have a secret cupboard in my house, it looks just like part of the panelled wall. There’s a bookcase in front of it.

That’s where I keep the body of my ex husband.

OhHolyMoly · 12/09/2023 20:34

My MIL buried hers in a biscuit tin garden.

Toooldtoworry · 12/09/2023 20:36

My Nan used to put hers in vhs video cases amongst the other ones. My Mum has kickboards that come off and she puts her jewellery and cash behind that.

vipersnest1 · 12/09/2023 20:48

When I was putting a bit of money aside before I split form XH (warranted by him having a / several affair(s)), I carefully unrolled sanitary towel wrappers then resealed them with the money inside. He would never have touched them in a month of Sundays!

Nope. But a great aunt did hide all her good jewellery at the bottom of a packed of Frosties. The relatives that stripped the house missed that.

That is not the tip I have given OP though. That is a secret. I also have another one which I know someone used to hide many bundles of cash over decades. They were a builder by trade and took mainly cash in the 1970's and 1980's. It was a spectacularly well thought out inventive place. So much so the family did not know about it. It was only their accountant who guessed there would be further money and where it might be (he was a sharp cookie).

PM me folks if you would like to know. Ideally before 9.30pm as then I am off to bed.

Must be a bit whiffy

InternetE3plorer · 12/09/2023 21:10

😬 @JaneJeffer

Thisgooddog · 12/09/2023 21:14

Are you a sneak thief looking for ideas for when you go out on the prowl tonight? 😀

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 12/09/2023 21:33

In a locked suitcase in the loft space

angeltattoo · 12/09/2023 21:33

Anni1234 · 12/09/2023 19:47

Or you could just pull a sicky for a week and tape it to yourself

GrinGrinGrin

MuggleMe · 12/09/2023 21:34

Suitcase in the loft assuming no one knows you have it and therefore regular burglars rather than someone specifically searching.

catin8oots · 12/09/2023 19:58

Lol you lot are all so obvious.

It's got to be the fridge drawers. AKA the salad hospice.

The salad hospice 😂

Behind bath panels

No, that's where drug dealers hide their stash, so if you get burgled, they'll look there if they think you're also dodgy, as will the police.

tenbob · 12/09/2023 19:29

Until squirrels get in and chew it to make fluffy bedding

I use a tin.

jlpth · 12/09/2023 21:56

If you get burgled, they grab stuff and hurl it off shelves so that anything concealed ends up visible on the floor.

Maddy70 · 12/09/2023 21:56

In a suitcase or bag, behind a bath panel ,

picsssodreams · 12/09/2023 22:06

I know it's a lighthearted thread but seriously, You are advertising to totally random strangers where money is stashed in houses

FanSpamTastic · 12/09/2023 22:09

In the ironing basket because literally nobody in this house ever touches it. Only problem is that I would probably forget that's where I put it and I wouldn't find it for months after.

AlphaAlpha · 12/09/2023 22:12

To be really unseen, it's have to go on the third stair.
Of course I'd have to declutter the items that normally reside there like folded laundry, mislaid items, or general stuff that needs to go upstairs to your respective rooms...

The amazing invisible third step, sure we all have one.

Wakintoblueskies · 12/09/2023 22:15

Neighbours were burgled and the thieves pulled up the corners of the carpet in the rooms so forget that hiding place!
I was burgled, the thieves went through the pockets of clothes hanging in the wardrobe so forget that hiding place too! They also went through empty bags/backpacks/luggage cases.

IHearTheMermaidsSinging · 12/09/2023 22:18

I used to have a tall mirror stood on the floor, across a little corner by the chimney breast in the bedroom. I once needed to hide a large amount of cash so, moved the mirror out of the way, pulled up the carpet behind where the mirror stood, slid the money under, and put the mirror back........ so that the cash was under the carpet behind the mirror..

I was burgled not long after that and they never saw the money.
