..and had to keep it in your house for a week and you didn't my have a safe, where would you put it? Hypothetically.....

You know what, in fact why don't you just pass it to me and I'll hide it for you 🤣

Anni1234 · 12/09/2023 19:28

Use a scalpel to carefully open a tampon box.

place it inside and then close the box with double sided sticky tape or something so it doesn’t look like it’s been opened. And leave it at the back of your toiletry cupboard behind other sanitary products.

I have a Henry hoover.

I’d put in in a clean bag inside the hoover.

Good idea!

I’d put it in the walls and ceilings somehow…

As a teen my friends dealer dad used to keep some of his cash/drugs in converted food tins amongst normal food tins and it was always a mission to find her a tenner for lunch money. He also had a huge library where half the books weren’t actually books.

In the loft underneath the insulation stuff.

This! I heard the loft was the best place as burglars want to be in and out of a house as quick as possible.

Edited

Until squirrels get in and chew it to make fluffy bedding

@CurlewKate I have PM'd you a tried and tested method. After all what is the point of advertising it.

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 19:40

@Ohthatsabitshit "When was the last time money was stolen from your home?"

Never. This is not the most serious post ever!

Then just stick it in a drawer.

TheClitterati · 12/09/2023 19:41

I'd be concerned about fire.

So I would hide it somewhere easily accessible should I need to get out of the house quickly.

Wrapped in a blanket in the downstairs cupboard or shoe store or something.

BarbaraofSeville · 12/09/2023 19:24

But if @CurlewKate is planning a new career as a house breaker, she has a decent list of hiding places to start with.

My thoughts exactly!

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 19:43

I removed a small section of the kick boards in the kitchen and stashed it taped underneath the cupboard above it, replaced kick board.

Pritipoll · 12/09/2023 19:46

Mixed in with Monopoly

Anni1234 · 12/09/2023 19:47

Or you could just pull a sicky for a week and tape it to yourself

MissingMoominMamma · 12/09/2023 19:20

At the bottom of the box of scarves in my wardrobe.

I definitely wouldn't hide it in a wardrobe or drawers etc in the bedroom. MIL was burgled recently and they absolutely ransacked the bedrooms and emptied out absolutely every drawer/wardrobe including emptying every bag/box etc in there. I can only assume they thought this was a likely hiding place for easy to carry valuables as they took cash and jewellery but left her laptop/TV etc. the fuckers actually emptied her suitcase and stole it (presumably filled with her valuables)

WeeOrcadian · 12/09/2023 19:48

In my purse - it'll be as safe as houses in there.

You're welcome

Growlybear83 · 12/09/2023 19:50

When I was clearing out my late mother's house, I found lots of bundles of money inside chests of drawers, taped to the backs of the drawers, and also at the back of the top section of her built in wardrobes.

catin8oots · 12/09/2023 19:58

Lol you lot are all so obvious.

It's got to be the fridge drawers. AKA the salad hospice.

Butterkist8 · 12/09/2023 19:58

Well sealed and in the cistern.

CurlewKate · 12/09/2023 20:00

@Seychal Thank you! That is such a good idea!

We recently had £2.5k in the house before a holiday I put it into the back of one of the cushions on the sofa

Itsjustmeee · 12/09/2023 20:10

I do actually keep a fair amount of cash in my house but I have a safe and it’s drilled to the floor so it would be hard to steal
but when I have hid money it’s been in a fire proof bag in the dog cage but under the plastic tray but secure in the cage so not going anywhere and my dog is such a knob no one would go near his cage 😂

but generally it’s best to hide anything above and below eye level

Solonge · 12/09/2023 20:10

In a plastic bag in the freezer.

Vitriolinsanity · 12/09/2023 20:22

Inside a pair of tights mixed up with a hundred other pairs of tights. Which is in fact where I keep my dad's gold watch.

ManchesterLu · 12/09/2023 20:29

I have a hidden hidey hole behind a wooden panel in my hallway.. so in there
