Where the heck are they?

Competition time.

Husband has a pair of expensive sandals that he only ever wears while on holiday, or on a really hot day while sat in the garden ( so rarely )
Yesterday, we turned the house upside down and inside out looking for them.
So far we have searched...
All the wardrobes.
On top of wardrobes ( he managed to break one doing this! )
All the cupboards.
Suitcases and holdalls.
Under the beds.
The only time they leave the house is in a suitcase when they're packed for a holiday.
So mnetters, help save my sanity with ideas of where the heck they can be please.
The lucky winner of this find the sandals competition will receive a packet of fruit pastilles. 🤞

The most obvious suggestion is that they never made it back from the last holiday. Can you be sure they did?

Checked the boots of any cars you have? And under the seats?

Behind wardrobes/under them in case they’ve managed to wander through a gap and slipped down the back.

Garage or garden shed? If he was wearing them outside and took them off in there for some reason.

The last hotel/holiday place you stayed at to see if they’ve been handed in.

Fallen behind a shoe rack?
stuffed inside a towel?
in a zipped up bit of the suitcase?
in a cupboard in the utility room?
in the bin (this is what I would do if dh started wearing sandals 😂😂)

He's worn them since our last holiday, so I know they're definitely here.
But where??
He only removes his footwear in the hallway ( changes for slippers ) so they're not in the garage.
He won't drive in them, so not in the car.
The wardrobes are fitted, but the back may have come away at the bottom? I'll check that.

@TheChosenTwo 🤣 he only wears them abroad or while sat out in the garden on a scorching day. Tbh, if he dared team them up with socks, I'd set fire to them....while they were still on his feet!! 😂

Quite possibly in the car if he doesn't drive in them, that's where my sandals are as took them off on the last holiday and changed back into trainers to drive, never took them out as off again soon.

I was going to suggest in the shed in case he took them off in the garden for some reason like he stepped into paddling pool or on a whim decided to do a job that might spoil them?

Have you been to the beach, are they with the beach stuff?

He only wears them while sat out in the garden here, if he was going to drive he would change into his trainers first.
I'll have a look in his car all the same though.

Dh wears flip flops and I can just about cope with wearing them myself, I’m a massive foot hater!!
Do hope he finds them soon, it’s so annoying losing stuff!

Do you have children OP? Any chance one of them could of pugged them somewhere….like the bin? 🤦‍♀️my son has done this several times with things. I am invested in this now so will be reading the updates lol

Inside the suitcase lining. I've lost stuff in there before when I zipped it in for security then forgot about its existence and assumed it was lost, went on another holiday and went to put something in the lining for safe keeping....

@Saucepot1985 no kids at home. They'd be way too small for adult sons barge size feet, so they're not with them.

Check any random boxes. I lost all of my flip flops in spring and it turned out I'd put them all in a box (helpfully labelled 'flip flops' 🙈) couldn't for the life of me remember doing it.

Hmmm, just asked DC where would a pair of sandals likely be after all the obvious places had been searched.
Looking very shifty and not looking me in the eye, muttered “ummm… maybe in a tree?!” and quickly darted off.
I think I now know where my missing flip flop is 😒

Although you are sure he only wears them in the garden or on holiday, he may well have popped somewhere else, realised he had them on and put them in a safe place in the car/in a sports bag/under a coat/wrapped in a plastic bag bag.

The reason they are missing is that they are in place they shouldn’t be!

What sort of fruit pastilles? The bag or the roll? I prefer the taste of the roll so I’m not putting effort in for a bag 😂
