Where the heck are they?

Competition time.

Husband has a pair of expensive sandals that he only ever wears while on holiday, or on a really hot day while sat in the garden ( so rarely )
Yesterday, we turned the house upside down and inside out looking for them.
So far we have searched...
All the wardrobes.
On top of wardrobes ( he managed to break one doing this! )
All the cupboards.
Suitcases and holdalls.
Under the beds.
The only time they leave the house is in a suitcase when they're packed for a holiday.
So mnetters, help save my sanity with ideas of where the heck they can be please.

Kicked under a bed/ sofa / vest of drawers etcetc

I lost a pair of neon pink trainers 7 years ago. I wore them home, next morning they were gone. Never seen again.

There was no one in the house so not binned.

The sandals are with my trainers.

Do you have a shed?

@NowNumber5 I have a dog, but she doesn't bother with shoes, I've asked her and she seemed to think I was asking her if she wanted a walk.

@Bonbon21 we have a shed, but it's only got a lawn mower and some spare plant pots in it. I checked.

I lost half of a new pair of flip-flops once, emptied all shoe storage, no sign. 18 months later, moved house, packed everything up (myself!), expecting it to turn up under a wardrobe or something. Still no sign. For some reason didn't chuck the odd one away. Unpacked at the new house, 2 flip flops!

So have you considered moving house OP?

Behind shower door
In the garden?
Behind back door
Wedged between umbrellas
Somehow inserted into another pair of shoes
With clean towels

When I've lost something from a holiday it was in the front zip pocket of the suitcase. Had never put anything in there so the case looked empty when we last emptied it

He left them outside and the local foxes took them.

You say he's checked the wardrobe, but has he really checked.

I'm afraid to say that if my dh declares he can't find something, I give him a withering look and tell him (with my withering look, after all these years no words are actually needed) to not bother me about it again until he's looked properly. Usually works. As in, he either finds it, or finds me so unhelpful about it all I never hear of it again.

Does he ever use them to go swimming? If so, check the swimming gear bag.

He took them off in the garden and either they were nicked or they’re hiding there somewhere.

He left them in the garden and a wild animal ran off with them

I've looked absolutely everywhere.
Even in places where it's not possible to put a pair of sandals. ☹️

@blitzen he doesn't swim, apart from on holiday, so that ones out too ☹️

Wardrobe. But not in it (if you have looked and not him, because they could be slapping him round the face and he'd say they weren't there) - under the wardrobe.

He's worn them upstairs to put them away, got as far as opening the doors, kicked them off and then pushed them underneath in that tiny, tiny, dark space between the feet as three tons of other stuff has fallen out and he's started looking at shirts that need buttons resewing on.

In the bathroom? In the garden ? Under the sofa?

Between the side of the sofa/ armchair and the wall? Underneath the dog’s toys if she has a toy box?

Have you got a shoe rack/cabinet? Because my shoes always end up down the back of the drawers in it

I’m currently contemplating emptying my wardrobe because the 2 silk scarves haven’t seen since a trip in January are not in the case I used. Can’t quite face it though 🤦‍♀️
