Competition time.

Husband has a pair of expensive sandals that he only ever wears while on holiday, or on a really hot day while sat in the garden ( so rarely )
Yesterday, we turned the house upside down and inside out looking for them.
So far we have searched...
All the wardrobes.
On top of wardrobes ( he managed to break one doing this! )
All the cupboards.
Suitcases and holdalls.
Under the beds.
The only time they leave the house is in a suitcase when they're packed for a holiday.
So mnetters, help save my sanity with ideas of where the heck they can be please.

In a toilet bag as a last minute pack?

I can confidently tell you that they are with my bag of wellies and black ankle boots that disappeared into the ether this time last year and have never resurfaced. The biggest mystery ever!

Shed? Left in the garden and a bush grew over them? (Speaking from personal experience here)

Has someone been in the house who either detests/loves them and has nicked them?

They're clearly in the same place as the chains from @Elphame's grandfather clock.

Do you have an airing cupboard? They are great places to lose things in. The piles of towels and other stuff only give up their hidden treasures after quite a fight.

Definitely not outside making friends with bushes.
No one else been in the house.
Not hung up on coat pegs.
I don't have an airing cupboard.

Today, the house gets taken apart. If I find anyone else's lost property, I'll let you know 👍

You know what the easiest solution is, don't you?

Buy another expensive pair and you will come across the old ones in a week, in plain sight.

They have been packed away in a different shoe box.

Well, this is where my boots were when I couldn't find them.

I found them the next season when I was packing out my summer shoes. They were packed away really neatly in an box which sandals came in initially.

So, like me, you have seen them umpteen times now, thinking they are something else.....

I love British fruit pastilles 😁 Can I put an order in for other sweets as well, seeing as you will have international courier them 😂

@isthismylifenow all the shoe boxes are on a shelving unit, sadly the sandals aren't in their box, which sadly means that you don't win a packet of fruit pastilles this time. Sorry.
@INeedAnotherName I'm planning on buying him another pair tomorrow in the hopes that this happens because it's sods law. However, knowing my luck, sods law won't kick in until he's worn the new ones and we return home from holiday.

Did you happen to vaguely recall seeing the sandals during the winter while you were looking for the axe?

Are they flat flip flop type shoes? So small and easy to be hidden underneath something?

Do you have any snorkeling or outdoorsy gear that is in a bag (ie maybe in with the flippers).

Could they they slotted in between some hats?.

Did you dh ever fall asleep on a park bench whilst slightly intoxicated?

I admit to also having been guilty of having random items in with snorkeling gear, the rest are just me in the running for first prize.....

Just turned our house over looking for a pair of dh's trainers.
They were in the garage. Think he must've taken them off wet or something, and left them there. No idea really.

Inside the cupboard of the miniature kitchen (that's where my 5yo put her Crocs so our stupid kitten wouldn't eat them!)

Could they have been left on a front/back step and stolen by foxes? Our local foxes are terrible for this.
