Feeling very hot and sweaty and it’s bloody awful! I’m just out of a shower to cleanse myself as I’ve been feeling sweaty and dirty all evening but now I’m all sweaty again!

I swear I won’t moan if we have a very cold winter this year!

Agree! I'm constantly sticky and horrible. Feel so stifled. Off to have a very cool shower and get into bed.

My work uniform is quite thick and the worst for this weather. I can't wait for the crisp, cold mornings..it just needs to hurry up!!

Couldn't agree more, it's hellish 🥵

shivermetimbers77 · 09/09/2023 23:09

Yep, it’s awful, I’m in a new
build and its 30 degrees in here. Can’t wait for it to cool down.

dontforgetme · 09/09/2023 23:11

I'm with you!
I'm so tired but so fucking hot and sweaty no chance of getting comfortable to sleep.

I couldn’t stick it.

I need somebody to pour a bucket full of ice cold water over me

Im one who never complains about cold wet windy weather.

but I absolutely detest hot humid weather. Explains why i last went to a hot country 30 years ago and hated all 14 days i was there.

i went to canada for 3 weeks in January and I was in my element!

noctiscaelum · 09/09/2023 23:17

Seriously, UK is not having anything compared to other part of the world. Storm/hurricane/flood/drought/ deathdue to it? Unawareness is kind of mind boggling.

808KateO · 09/09/2023 23:18

It's been a menopausal nightmare this week. Think we're onto cooler days after tomorrow though!

808KateO · 09/09/2023 23:19

@noctiscaelum Yes, I think most of us are perfectly aware.

I know, but UK heat feels different for some reason, and not in a good way!

It’s also down to the fact we aren’t used to it whereas people in Spain, Italy etc are used to it being so warm all the time

Struggling with something isn't always alleviated by knowing others have it worse 🙄
No one is unaware.

Don’t get me wrong I hate it when it’s raining all winter (don’t mind a bit of snow) and don’t mind it raining when I’m cosy in bed but I would do anything to have the coldness of winter right now, I’d rather be too cold than too warm lol

In Cornwall at the moment. It's pleasant rather than stifling. Glad I am not in London.

OnAFrolicOfMyOwn · 09/09/2023 23:22

The hot weather will be gone in a couple of days if not before. It will have dropped 10 degrees by Tuesday where I am, according to the weather outlook.

NoSquirrels · 09/09/2023 23:23

Our housing stock is uniquely unsuited to very hot weather, because we’re not a hot weather country. My own house can be fucking freezing in winter - the rare heatwaves are the only time it comes into its own.

ell87 · 09/09/2023 23:24

I love it. We keep the blinds shut during the day to keep the sun out and now have all the windows open so all the warm air is now out and being replaced by a nice comfortable cool air from outside.
We're in the south and my house is now 24c which is perfect for me.
I was in Spain not long ago and it was averaging 35c and not much cooler in the evenings. This is manageable for me.

noctiscaelum · 09/09/2023 23:28

Yeah, it really doesn't matter does it? We have it so bad, it's so unusually hot, we can't cope, while people in the other part of the world is actually dying because of it.
It's just reality we have to adapt and learn to cope, I think. At least we aren't at the stage that people are dying or crops are failing because of it yet.

This was just a light hearted thread about how warm It is. There’s no need to read into it so deeply.

I think all of us understand how hard it is in some parts of the world - it doesn’t mean others can’t express their uncomfortableness about the weather.

Nobody on here has, in any way, suggested that we are having a more difficult time than other countries.

I love it. Any excuse for evenings at the river. My children think I’m part lizard.

NeverTrustAPoliceman · 09/09/2023 23:37

I hate the hot weather and am currently too sweaty after a cool shower to get into bed. I am counting the hours until Tuesday when it will be at least ten degrees cooler.

This does not mean I lack sympathy for the millions of people whose lives are worse than mine.

Lol, I agree I do like a bit of heat but not when it’s so humid, sweaty and makes your clothes stick to you

I love it. Sitting outside without a jumper till after 10, bliss! Reading a book in the warm shade of a tree, pretty much my favourite thing.I do appreciate that it isn’t fun for lots of people though.

TeenLifeMum · 09/09/2023 23:42

To be fair, we went to Orlando this summer so it’s reminding me of the holiday.

fuckssaaaaake · 09/09/2023 23:50

I think it's ace, everyone was moaning about how we've had no summer, well now we have for like 5 mins. It will pass v quickly
