Feeling very hot and sweaty and it’s bloody awful! I’m just out of a shower to cleanse myself as I’ve been feeling sweaty and dirty all evening but now I’m all sweaty again!

I swear I won’t moan if we have a very cold winter this year!

I just sat in a cold bath. Was bliss!

amispeakingintongues · 09/09/2023 23:55

I'm 32 wks pregnant and barely alive at this point

Showdogworkingdog · 10/09/2023 00:08

I hate it. I prefer snuggling under blankets on the sofa to lying out on a sun bed.

My old dog is really struggling in this heat, despite my best efforts to create cooler places for him. He’s missing his long walks too, will be glad to get back to stomping through muddy fields in the morning chill.

ShutTheDoorBabe · 10/09/2023 00:09

It's been raining and thundering here and feels much more fresh now. I hate hot and humid weather.

DrCoconut · 10/09/2023 00:20

Today has been really nice. How it should have been for the summer holidays. We've managed to get a day out to make the most of it since we were stuck in for so much of July watching it rain. It will be cold and miserable for months soon.

scoobydoo1971 · 10/09/2023 00:20

It has started raining outside and I feel delighted. I had major surgery two weeks ago and battling infection so feel utterly disgusting. The relentless humidity has been pure hell. I hope we get a proper storm and I can start to breathe again.

sawnotseen · 10/09/2023 00:29

I love it! I'm in outer London and it's 30. Was lovely being able to go out for a meal last night and sit outdoors watching the sun go down.
I'll be driving to the coast tomorrow. Was talking to my friend of over 30 years earlier and we remember being in temps of over 40 in India and Australia.
We are both menopausal but still enjoy the heat. It's lovely just chucking a dress and sandals on.

JenniferBooth · 10/09/2023 00:30

@beeonmybonnett My niece has just got back from Italy Venice Rome Campobasso and Naples. Air con everywhere.

Winchester100 · 10/09/2023 00:33

I have a fear of crane flies, which means I have to keep the windows closed in September.

im sick to death of it!

Seriously, UK is not having anything compared to other part of the world. Storm/hurricane/flood/drought/ deathdue to it? Unawareness is kind of mind boggling.

Don't be silly. That's like saying no ones allowed to complain about tooth ache as some people have cancer.

KnittedJimmyChoos · 10/09/2023 03:37

Counting down the hours and my house is cool in the day but the bedrooms are roasting at night and I can't open the window due to spiders.
It's 2am and I'm awake now with heat.

It's the tiredness dromedary all the night waking.
One and a bit mote days till normal nights

ilovesooty · 10/09/2023 03:50

It's a few days. According to the weather forecast it will be cooler and raining almost incessantly for days very soon. I'm really not looking forward to that. There was enough rain in July and August.

Imamumgetmeoutofhere · 10/09/2023 04:06

I just got woken up by the biggest load of rain I've heard in a long time. Shame it wasn't a thunder storm to clear the air but that's meant to happen later today.

Just looked at the thermostat on the way back from a loo trip. 26.5 degrees at 4am in the pissing morning, can only guess what it was when we were out in the day yesterday.

Don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have warmth than rain (don't mind it being cold) but our houses here in the UK are not made for this weather, they are designed to retain heat, fab in the winter, not so great this time of year.

I so wish we had air con, my have to see about a portable unit for next summer

WhoWants2Know · 10/09/2023 05:13

I've got the temperature down to 21.5 in my kitchen by opening all the windows and doors and creating a through draft. Marinated in a cool bath before bed, which helped too.

Lizzieregina · 10/09/2023 05:18

Just here for solidarity!

I was born in Uk grew up in Ireland and now live in hell 🥵. It felt like 40c for multiple days last week.

I was in Ireland in July and every time I opened the front door I smiled at the nice cool blast that hit me.

Soon I’ll have the potential of -30c and feet of snow to look forward to 😕

TaRaRaBoomDeeAy · 10/09/2023 06:26

Do any of you ‘I love it!’ Heat lovers have kids? Grandkids? Don’t you ever think how all of this ‘lovely weather’ will be for them in even 5 years time?

Seriously? 😳

Southoftheriver32 · 10/09/2023 06:33

No wonder we’re called whinging poms all over the world, some people will whinge and moan about anything.
Don’t fret, normal weather service will resume after tomorrow and then you can whinge about the cold.

terraced · 10/09/2023 06:36

I'm a gardener and really struggle being outside all Winter. Happy with a few days of warmth at the moment. It's been a wet and rubbish Summer.

Araminta34 · 10/09/2023 06:39

I can't sleep, I'm far too hot. I want a good thunderstorm to clear the air and freshen everything up.

ForthegracegoI · 10/09/2023 06:44

Don't be silly. That's like saying no ones allowed to complain about tooth ache as some people have cancer.

No, it’s more like complaining about tooth ache while ignoring your own cancer diagnoses.

PaperDoves · 10/09/2023 06:51

This. We had the most rubbish summer, and it's only been hot for a couple of days! And will soon be rubbish again.

cuckyplunt · 10/09/2023 06:54

This weather feels wrong, the trees look papery and miserable, the whole planet feels sick. I hate it!

WaltzingWaters · 10/09/2023 06:57

No way!!! After the awful summer we’ve had I want this lovely weather to stay for months!! (Though doesn’t look like it’s going to- so you should be okay again soon).

SprinkleOfSunak · 10/09/2023 07:04

I detest hot weather, I just cannot begin to understand how anyone can like it, like my Husband does.

I do really like to be able to sit outside, but it only needs to be around 18 or 20 degrees for that, anything more is unnecessary.

Can’t breathe properly, rivers of sweat from head to toe, blood red face, overlapping thighs that mean chub rub shorts that make you hotter, insect bites, heat rash, wasps, flies, gnats, more flesh on show, having to wear sandals, worrying that you smell.
