Feeling very hot and sweaty and it’s bloody awful! I’m just out of a shower to cleanse myself as I’ve been feeling sweaty and dirty all evening but now I’m all sweaty again!

I swear I won’t moan if we have a very cold winter this year!

I thought the rain storm we had overnight and a bit this afternoon would help. Clearly not, still sweaty, sticky and miserable. I don't want it freezing, just a few degrees cooler so I can sleep

"Store in a cool dry place" There IS no cool place apart from the fridge and not everything can be stored at that temp. There is no cool place in a Sanctuary sauna Shithole

ShutTheDoorBabe · 11/09/2023 19:38

It's lovely and cool here now.

Ostryga · 11/09/2023 20:46

Still 23 degrees here and my house is like an oven despite airing it out. Slept under a damp sheet last night I was so hot!

Bring on tomorrow’s rain and 20 degree top temp!

coxesorangepippin · 11/09/2023 20:50

Isn't it any cooler???

JenniferBooth · 11/09/2023 21:23

26 here but feels hotter because it always takes a couple of days for this shithole to cool down. Was on TV earlier to expect YET ANOTHER humid night in the South East

BirthdayFlake · 12/09/2023 20:00

Anyone else freezing now? 😂

JenniferBooth · 12/09/2023 20:03

Not in the Sanctuary sauna

Can hot weather affect bowels?
'High temperatures can actually cause the bad bacteria in our guts to expand resulting in an increased likelihood of gastrointestinal infections and can trigger or worsen symptoms such as diarrhoea and bloating.8 Aug 2018

It's been a menopausal nightmare this week. Think we're onto cooler days after tomorrow though!

^^ This
It was cooler tonight, I was actually a bit chilly earlier. Until I got home. Not just me, Lab is feeling the burn.

JenniferBooth · 12/09/2023 21:14

Brits would rather risk lives than put in air conditioning.

We only need it for about two weeks a year, on average. The cost isn't worth it - consider what winter heating bills are like here, compared to countries where air conditioning is worthwhile. Most people can't afford to heat in winter and cool in summer.

RampantIvy · 12/09/2023 21:21

TBH I enjoyed having another week of summer, but we are back to normal now. Sideways rain and 14 degrees today.

BRING IT ON!! 🙃

CurlyhairedAssassin · 12/09/2023 21:27

I went to work this morning in the same kind of outfit I've been wearing in the heatwave. Our house is still stiflingly hot. 24 degrees first thing in the morning in the coolest part of the house downstairs. Stepped outside and got a shock and how cool it felt. I think British houses retain the heat a lot and take a good few days to cool down even after the weather has cooled.

Anyway, got home tonight and the house has cooled right down to match outside a bit more. I actually felt chilly and need to put a blanket on my bare legs as I was watching telly.

Hurray!!!!!!😁

KnittedJimmyChoos · 12/09/2023 21:54

It's perfect here tonight I'm so happy.
I feel human again again.

I can well imagine that heat can cause gastric issues and one needs to be even more scrupulous with food hygiene.

MeinKraft · 12/09/2023 23:05

It's down to 8° here at night, might need to actually close the windows for the first time in about 5 months Confused
I've put away the suncream too. Think I've applied the last of it for the year.
Ah well. Time to brace ourselves for coke and frosty mornings!

MeinKraft · 12/09/2023 23:06

Cold and frosty mornings! No coke here Blush

HarrietJet · 12/09/2023 23:10

I'll take either, or both @MeinKraft 😄

RampantIvy · 13/09/2023 08:37

It was so cold here last night that our heating came on this morning.
