I’m currently eating toasted crumpets and my all time favourite peanut butter (meridian dark roast fyi) and it is bringing me SO much joy.

I can’t buy either where I am so when some friend from the U.K. visit they stock me up!

A big bowl of salted popcorn while watching the new Indiana Jones movie 🍿

Yum! I like a mix of sweet and salty myself but popcorn always pleases me greatly

Except for the time I added butter to it, then some more, then some more…then it hardened and was a big greasy revolting mess that makes me feel a touch nauseous thinking about it

Dulce de leche, from a tub, with a spoon. Heavenly

The last most memorable thing I had which tasted so incredible was octopus at a harbour restaurant in lanzarote just before lockdown. It was just amazing.

Less exotic than that but memorable was a burrito from Tortilla in Bristol Airport which was so good and filling and bloody cheap.

Salted caramel cannoli. I ate 3 of them over the course of today.

Greensleeves · 09/09/2023 02:15

@IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece I have also made that error with the butter, it was truly foul!

An amazing salad in a restaurant yesterday with goats cheese, butternut squash and walnuts.
I need to learn how to make these amazing salads at home!

Homemade chicken mushroom and pea risotto, it was so cheesy and yummy 🤤

TeeBee · 09/09/2023 08:49

I've just had toasted fruit loaf with excellent salted butter. Heaven.

Chicken kiev

A runny fried egg sandwich. We call it a jersey egg as when you bite into it, the egg runs down your jersey

Chicken and cheese toastie

Great thread!
A red onion and chive bagel with mushroom pate, followed by a homemade (not by me) gooey chocolate brownie

Breakfast just now, grilled (fried) chili cheese and onion sandwich, Turkish pickles, cucumber. Strong, sweet espresso.

Home alone last night as Dh brought kids to a match and I remembered two milky bars i bought them as a Friday treat but never gave to them. So I ate both. They will never know... it was an unexpected and naughty treat 😋

Kelly’s vanilla ice cream

Bonbonbonbonbons · 09/09/2023 09:23

Overnight oats and Greek yogurt with dried tropical fruit, fresh blueberries and semi frozen banana. I didn’t want it to end.

Crikeyalmighty · 09/09/2023 09:25

A rare but excellent Chinese last night with black bean king prawns , lots of mushrooms and jasmine rice.

Surely2023IsTheYearForMyRainbowBaby · 09/09/2023 09:29

A chippy tea the other night. I rarely get a takeaway so I really enjoyed it. The homemade chicken curry I made that night for meals during the week was also really really nice too. Usually I just shove a jar of sauce in but I made the whole thing from scratch and it tastes a lot better.

I'm on holiday in Brittany and just ate something called a Far Breton - omg! Kind of like a baked cheesecake, with stewed prunes in it (so a good breakfast food 😉).

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 09/09/2023 10:02

Love these!

Strawberries with a plain chocolate choc ice (choc slightly smashed in) on top. A combo I can highly recommend.

Gluten free cod and chips for lunch today at a really lovely restaurant. It was absolutely spot on perfect, couldn't fault a thing!
