Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas divorce narrative

Just watching this unfold over the last few days starting with they were filing for divorce which happens to a lot of people, but noticed the narrative is moving towards how Joe has been looking after their children all summer, he tried to save the marriage and it's down to her partying and painting things quite negatively for Sophie Turner.

Obviously I have no idea what's going on with either side but does look like she's being portrayed as the villain here and him the good guy , I know this is probably a lot to do press spin on things. She's been working away in UK and it would be quite normal for him to 'parent' their children while she's away ( (and hardly qualifies for father of the year, just their father.)

He's abducted those girls if you read between the legal lines of the court documents. I hope Sophie has a good legal team

It's saying a lot more than that. Its saying he filed for divorce on 1st September. He had travelled to the US with the kids and the Nanny at the end of August. She found out about the divorce via the media on the 4th September. She had been expecting to join him on tour with the kids.

He's then told the Florida courts that the children had been resident in Florida for the last six months.

She says this is untrue.

She says they met on 17th September and it was agreed the kids would return to the UK with her. But didn't allow that as planned and has taken the passports and is refusing to let the kids leave the country and that's in breach of the Hague Convention because the childrens' normal place of residency is the UK.

So one of them is telling massive porkies and it's going to get very nasty. I feel for the kids.

No idea who is lying but someone was making a very public display of parading the kids and playing the good parent and that doesn't sit well with me.

Sounds to me like he realised if they moved to the U.K., if he and Sophie divorced then the kids (& by extension, him) would have to stay in the U.K. too. So he took them back to the US, snuck the divorce on her and then made a big show of being the better parent.

Well it sounds like it is going to be very nasty. If the latest stuff is true re springing the divorce and withholding the passports I hope her legal team are shit hot. Narrative will certainly change now and she hasn’t said a word- just left it to the lawyers.

So he squirrelled the children back to the US under the pretence that they would all move to the UK and then filed for divorce without even bothering to tell her. He then makes out she is a bad mother and is too busy partying to bother looking after the children and HE has to look after them because he is a stellar dad when in fact he was refusing to hand over the passports. He is an either bigger tosser than I initially thought.

I feel very sorry for the children as this is going to get mucky. However, I do take joy in Joe getting slated on social media. Had he not started with the mud slinging in the first place we may all have formed a very different view on all of this.

This fucker knew exactly what he was doing. taking them back to the US before they had been the UK for 6 months means it won't be considered their permanent residence and she likely won't be able to return to the UK with them. He is clearing lying, if Sophie had known he was planning on filing for divorce I doubt she would have let them leave. I feel so sorry for her, it's a mother's worst nightmare

I can only hope that her photographed meeting with Taylor Swift last night was so that Taylor (bad history with the Jonas dude) could pass on details of her lawyer with a promise to pay legal fees. let's face it, she can afford the best lawyer on the planet and Sophie can't.

He's currently on tour with his brothers. They were in my city last weekend.

Priyanka/her PR team are putting her out there with all the Backgrid photos of her "stepping out" in the wake of Joe and Sophie's divorce. It seemed a little low to me to try and get attention from it for herself as opposed to letting it quieten down. I'm not dragging her for the divorce itself though, I mentioned I didn't think much of her anyway and explained why I can have an opinion on people who sleep with married people routinely; those people are generally toxic. It's not an innocent mistake if you know they have spouses each time, I couldn't respect any man or woman who did that regularly. She supports enough misogynistic people herself though. However, I think she'll sleep just fine and not worry what anyone thinks about it.

Anyway, I'm glad to see Sophie is going all in and now has her own Backgrid photos. I hope she's getting fantastic representation and has the support to fight this all of the way.

Why is she now headlines? Saying he won't give passports. Clearly that was all known before. He had a prenup. He's not gonna let her take his kids to the uk permanently is he?

Shes now in the headlines because she filed court papers, the court papers are public records so the press got hold of them and have reported on it.

The papers shes filed claim that they sold their house in Florida I think around March and had already moved to the U.K. were living there and had started buying a house there, enrolled the kids in school etc - the kids were on tour with him and the nanny while she was filming a job.

They had an argument on his birthday and she learned that he’d filed for divorce via the media about 2 weeks later, she’s finished the filming she was doing and come to collect the children as pre-arranged to take them home to the U.K. and he’s refused to give her their passports.

I’d assume she has the evidence of the selling and buying of houses etc or it’ll go nowhere... and also pre-nups don’t cover future children.

She hasn’t spoken to the press at all, just him, and if it’s true that they sold their house in Florida and don’t live there, it’s looking really dodgy that that’s where he filed for divorce, apparently.

It's looking like he may have not been truthful on legal documents. ST didn't release those documents, they were available to the public as per usual process.
