Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas divorce narrative

Just watching this unfold over the last few days starting with they were filing for divorce which happens to a lot of people, but noticed the narrative is moving towards how Joe has been looking after their children all summer, he tried to save the marriage and it's down to her partying and painting things quite negatively for Sophie Turner.

Obviously I have no idea what's going on with either side but does look like she's being portrayed as the villain here and him the good guy , I know this is probably a lot to do press spin on things. She's been working away in UK and it would be quite normal for him to 'parent' their children while she's away ( (and hardly qualifies for father of the year, just their father.)

Yes absolutely to a PP about their pre-nup, I bet there are different payment hurdles for every year of marriage or similar.

And here’s a conspiracy :) this whole thing about the “Ring doorbell”… why mention the brand? Because then if you Google “jonas ring” or whatnot it will come up with that story, and not the ridiculousness of him having been wearing his ring on and off as it turns out he was filing for divorce.

I see he’s trotted the kids out for a pap walk arranged with the Backgrid agency (ie they mostly arrange these with the celebs, kardashians use them too).

didnt know anything about him but turns out he has a history of blaming women - when he was 18 (!!) he blamed a 14 year old miley cyrus for making him smoke pot. Ok. My cousin who was a fan of his before this said his lyrics refer a lot to partying, drinks and drugs. Yet they lived in Miami and she was never pictured going out? Ok 🤨

Blaming women is peak ultra sleazy Corporate Christianity Culture (I’m copyrighting that). She is not Eve, we are not evil partygoers, she can have a career and kids, have some respect for your wife!!

And the statement about respecting privacy… you literally just had your PR machine churn out tripe against this woman, and even now are using your own children for PR. Honestly how would you feel in her shoes? Ugh!!!

There's a American PR lady on TikTok called Molly McPherson PR who has deconstructed it in 3 videos, she said often these stories are to bury something bigger or discredit others by the mud slinging and in her last video she also mentioned that most often the silent parties are the ones who have been suffering in the marriage. The noisiest ones are the ones looking for someone to blame which seems very on brand for him.

Hopefully this is the last we hear from the Jonas' PR team.

I think the doorbell thing is a threat. He has been spying on her and has something incriminating, so this is a threat to be a good little girl or he will release it. He is a walking, talking red flag.

I am also suspicious of the stories and PR. It definitely feels like he is spinning against her. So far her crime seems to be having some shots while in the UK working.

I suspect she married and had kids a bit too young and he was a bit of a controlling git. That’s the message that seems to come through from the stories. If the only thing he has against her is the pub stories then I’m sure there is more to come about his behaviour.

Still, you felt you had to come onto a thread to announce you hadn't heard of the people being discussed, instead of

  1. Simply scrolling past; or
  2. Using Google

Urgh what a pig! Who uses the divorce from the mother of his children as a PR event. I'm glad it's backfiring and people are seeing through it on social media.

I didn't give a monkeys about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner before all of this but now I hope she bleeds him dry and takes the kids back to the UK with her and helps herself to as many cocktails as she wishes to celebrate getting that misogynistic short- arse out of her life.

OP, this is exactly what I thought when I read the articles about their divorce. I thought it was pretty sexist and obviously pushing a narrative. Also isn’t he from the US Christian right? Smacks of him disapproving of her not fitting the narrative of what that culture expects of mothers and wives.

The way his side is briefing the press against her is vile. It doesn't matter what she says now, the implication that she's given up her kids to party is going to stick. Plus, they've been so careful to keep their DC out of the public eye and now suddenly he's parading them at an al fresco restaurant? The UK media has to pixelate children's faces but in the US they can be published, so he's just invaded their privacy to make a point.

The fact his photos with the kids are from backgrid, and he is incapable of being alone with 2 small children says it all to me. He's a performative parent, not an actual parent. He's hiding something really shady and ST will be wise to let him dig his own hole while she stays quiet.

Just as Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans was wrapping up we have a new nasty divorce to focus on. I wish people would consider their children before putting their relationship meltdowns on blast.

She has grown out of the marriage- she went from ‘been married’ to got them got married to JJ & never really had that ‘just me’ time. I suspect JJ filled the void left by got but she has realised she wants more.

JJ got to parent his own children for a couple of months & found it tedious- women have to do this all the time.
