I don't mean due to boredom I mean just utterly distressing:

NEVER. Kes. So a lonely little boy finds joy in an innocent bird who loves him back only for his cunt of a brother to kill it, right? I'll pass thanks.

Harry Brown. One of the most violent, depressingly upsetting films I've ever seen. Never again.

NEVER. A Serbian Film. No thanks. Googling the plot was horrific enough.

Dumbo. Never in my life have I wanted to jump through a screen to protect and adopt a cartoon character. Same with Fox & Hound.

The Blair Witch Project. The only time I have ever walked out of a cinema in disgust. What a self-indulgent waste of time.

caerdydd12 · 05/09/2023 21:35

The Pursuit of Happyness - it cuts me to my very core

Dentaldrama · 05/09/2023 21:36

Sophie's Choice.

A Serbian Film. Read the plot on Wikipedia. Fuck. That. Shit.

AppleKatie · 05/09/2023 21:37

The life of pi.

worst cinema experience of my life 🤦‍♀️

OctoblocksAssemble · 05/09/2023 21:37

I do not watch horror films, but every so often I mess up and accidentally watch a horror masquerading as sci-fi or fantasy.
Will never watch again: Event Horizon, Pan's Labyrinth
The image of the Pale Man haunted me for weeks

Freshair1 · 05/09/2023 21:38

Bone Tomahawk. Watching a man get scalped and then hooked and split in half.... No thanks. Utterly awful.

Come and See. Belarusian war film about the Nazis murder of whole villages. Awful. Harrowing.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 05/09/2023 21:39

I'd never watch Tusk again. Its a little known film which involves someone being made into a human walrus by other humans skin attached along with tusks..the end result is something that sticks in your mind and I say that as someone who's watched human centipede.

GCAcademic · 05/09/2023 21:40

Another vote for Pan’s Labyrinth. Though I suspect my reaction to it was due to the fact that I started watching it expecting an uplifting fairy tale. It was certainly not that.

SabrinaThwaite · 05/09/2023 21:41

I was going to say Reservoir Dogs (DH sold it to me as “a bank heist and car chases”) but it pales into significance against some of these.

The plot of Tyrannosaur sounds horrendous. Why would you put yourself through that?

rc22 · 05/09/2023 21:41

The Deer Hunter.

FitzChivarly · 05/09/2023 21:41

The butterfly effect, I watched it years and years ago as a teen and it really stuck with me for a long time afterwards

Gowlett · 05/09/2023 21:41

Agree re. Harry Brown. It’s horrible!

Anything with evil or the Devil. No…
You couldn’t pay me to watch The Exorcist.

I wouldn’t ever watch a horror movie.

The life of pi.

worst cinema experience of my life 🤦‍♀️

I was pleasantly surprised by the Life of Pi. I’d read the book and thought it was absolutely unfilmable, but it turned out a lot better than I’d expected.

Sleepwalkies · 05/09/2023 21:42

Life is Beautiful, I was traumatised for months. And another vote for Kes. Never again.

my82my · 05/09/2023 21:44

What's Love got to do with it. (Depressing and I hate the scene were the little kid is watching Ike beat Tina, He must only be about 2 years old so probably didn't understand it was actors)

Nil by mouth with Kathy Burke and Ray Winstone.

The War Zone, Also Ray Winstone such a depressing movie.

Autieangel · 05/09/2023 21:45

Never seen-
My sisters keeper
The fault in our stars

I hate tear jerkers

Would not watch again-
The garden state - dull
Skeleton key - terrifying (add any horror here)
The hurt locker - dull
Blood diamond- awful

LadyKenya · 05/09/2023 21:45

I have just had a nosy about what Tyrannosaur is about, and I can safely say that I will not be ever watching that film!

feellikeanalien · 05/09/2023 21:46

I have never been able to bring myself to watch Watership Down. Even listening to Bright Eyes makes me want to cry.

Mind you my Mum and I used to blub our way through the Lassie films (especially Lassie Come Home).

Pushkinini · 05/09/2023 21:47

The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. Just harrowing. Never again.
Similarly, Sophie's Choice.

dikwad · 05/09/2023 21:47

Eden Lake. It made me feel physically sick.

SabrinaThwaite · 05/09/2023 21:48

Had to watch The Pianist with DS for a school project. Never again.

OhYeahyeahyeah · 05/09/2023 21:50

OLD - The worst Film I have ever seen, ridiculous storyline, terrible acting, I could go on.. we sat in Silence shock whilst watching it!

mbosnz · 05/09/2023 21:51

Beasts of War.
Minsk.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 05/09/2023 21:52

Water ship down
Charlottes web

dontforgetme · 05/09/2023 21:55

Tyrannosaur is a hard watch but (imo) a bloody brilliantly acted film. Olivia Colman absolutely blew me away.

I haven't heard of quite a few films on this thread.

I definitely agree with the pp who said The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. The rape scene is horrific.
