What's your simple pleasure?

For me, today, it is sitting in the hammock under the trees listening to the radio while the sun shines.

Freezing cold but sunny, early morning winter walk.

MeerkatsRule · 06/09/2023 21:01

@Objectionhearsayspeculation your hare is absolutely gorgeous.

bellalou1234 · 06/09/2023 21:04

Finishing 4 long hard night shifts knowing I've got days off with nice food, sleep and wine

@napody His name is Argyll, my youngest Dd rescued him as a tiny leveret from barley machinery and brought him in, I bottle fed him every 2 hours day and night and we didn't ever think he'd survive as he was so underweight. He is now the boss of the house, refuses point blank to entertain going outside never mind <whispers> live out there when there's sofas, laps and being spoiled rotten. He is so loving, I have kept pet rabbits before but they were never cuddly like he is but he does cost me a lot of sleep loss! He doesn't eat for anyone else and needs watched like a hawk to make sure his digestive system is working properly but he is a celebrity with all the neighbouring farms who actually wave at him when passing Blush

That is bloody amazing!

I remember Argyll !! You've posted about him before, how flippin big is he! So glad he's living his best life, well done you.

This is such a cosy thread!

Lying in bed in the loft conversion hearing rain smattering on the velux window.

An ice cold Corona on the beach at sunset.

DD holding my hand and chatting when I walk her to school.

Cuddling sleepy DS when he's just woken up and his hair is all tousled.

MissBattleaxe · 06/09/2023 21:14

A late afternoon nap at the weekend. A huge luxury and free of charge. Bliss.

LunchBoxPolice · 06/09/2023 21:34

I love it when I spot something my toddler likes, and I get to watch her little face as she spots it too. Like this morning when I saw a tractor up ahead, I watched her face and could see the exact moment she noticed it, and her little eyes lit up. Makes me go all fuzzy.

Sitting by an open window and watching/listening to a thunderstorm.

Threads like this where you get a random post about sprout curry, and a domesticated hare!

ShitMermaid · 06/09/2023 21:37

A nice cup of tea when you REALLY want one, in your favourite mug.
Perfect 🥰

TheFeistyFeminist · 06/09/2023 22:06

That cosy cup of tea on the sofa after a brisk walk on a cold day.

teaforme33 · 06/09/2023 22:09

Fresh bread and hot soup.
A bath, clean pjs and clean sheets.
Getting a lie in at the weekend and knowing I can just sprawl in bed with my book or phone (rarely happens but lovely when it does).
Watching the birds in my garden.
Walking at sunset/dusk after a hot day.

Catsmere · 06/09/2023 22:26

Reading in bed with a cat curled up on me.

LindorDoubleChoc · 06/09/2023 22:29

Going to bed.

Sleeping all night makes me positively ecstatic.

ALongHardWinter · 06/09/2023 23:10

Getting into bed at the end of a long, exhausting day when you're absolutely knackered. Just feeling your body relax and the tension start to slip away is sheer bliss.

Skybird90 · 06/09/2023 23:18

Waking up at silly o'clock thinking it's time to get up .. but you've got hours hours still to go .. YES !

No alarm in the morni
ng. Dozing in the morning. Fresh, crisp bedding. Swimming in the sea abroad in the sun. Laying in the sun. Feeling the sun on my face. Having a chill/fever and the feeling of being cold & warm at the same time in bed. A good cup of tea. The feeling of a clean house, full fridge and order at home. My DC having fun/smiling/being happy

Mondaymanic · 06/09/2023 23:33

Lying in bed when it's pouring outside, listening to the rain
Swimming in the sea on holiday
A glass of wine outside on a sunny day
Cuddling my dog
The smell of fresh cut grass
Cold crisp sunny autumn days with brown leaves
A really good cup of tea
The feeling after exercise (hate doing it but after feels like you can take on the world)
Having the house all tidy with lovely candles lit
The smell of coffee in the morning
A good hug
My personal favourite... Seeing the daffodils line the roadside when they bloom. Instantly makes me happy

Mondaymanic · 06/09/2023 23:36

@ShellySarah awk give over.

Sorry OP just saw about your husband. So sorry for your loss. You will find little moments of happiness again and they will grow over time

Another one I forgot. Belly laughing til you cry... Only my mum and best friend make me laugh like that.

RockingAmadeus · 06/09/2023 23:49

My cat jumping on my bed for a cuddle after he’s exhausted himself with the 3am zoomies.

Kitty cuddles are the best! Those purrs and head-butts ... feline affection makes me happy even when it's at inconvenient times!

RavingStyle · 06/09/2023 23:57

The sound of a WhatsApp notification from one of my adult DC... can't wait to see what they're up to!

Walking the dog in the beautiful countryside or on a nearby beach here, listening to a podcast.

Evening snuggles with the dog and/or cat. If neither are available, DH will do.

Seeing my DD (with ASD, OCD and MH issues) heading out to catch the bus to college this week. We - and she - worried that she'd never get to do A levels, and there she is!

Sitting on my balcony.

(I want a pet hare!!)

I like your priorities, @RavingStyle ! 😄

SperaT · 07/09/2023 00:39

@Objectionhearsayspeculation would love to see some more photos of your affectionate pet hare!

Astridastro · 07/09/2023 00:44

Snuggling up with a good book, the dog and one of my cats the one who likes me the best .

Argyll is amazing! ❤️

NoTeaNoShade · 07/09/2023 01:03

That first glass of wine after a week's work, knowing it's the longest possible time until going back to work.

That warm cheeked feeling of coming back indoors from a chilly ramble, coupled with that pleasantly tired feeling.

Scudding clouds, I love watching the changing shapes.

Getting into bed when you're absolutely exhausted and getting a good nights sleep, followed by waking up feeling amazing. So rare for me but I appreciate it so much when it happens.

Holding my DH's hand.
