What's your simple pleasure?

For me, today, it is sitting in the hammock under the trees listening to the radio while the sun shines.

If DH is away, waking up.. getting breakfast and jumping back into bed with it and the crossword.

If DH is home, waking up and seeing him right there next to me.

when my youngest son throws his arms around me as soon as he comes downstairs in the morning. All the sweeter because I know it's limited - his older brother is too grown up to need a good morning hug now, and DC2's childish silkiness is melting away

On Sunday night we all cuddled up together on the sofa with fresh fluffy socks and pyjamas on after an early bath/shower time and watched a movie. It was bliss.

MattDamon · 05/09/2023 17:52

Climbing into fresh bed linen.

FrangipaniBlue · 05/09/2023 17:56

Getting into your bed when you've just put fresh bedding on!

Bovrilla · 05/09/2023 18:00

Early dog walk this morning with dewy ground, deer, red kites and green woodpecker out and about. Gorgeous.

A really bloody good cup of tea, whilst reading a book on the sofa

A long shower or bath with fluffy towel and clean PJ's afterwards

Home made scones. Cheese and rosemary ones with soup or sweet ones with home made jam

Colourfulponderings · 05/09/2023 18:01

A cool bedroom and breeze coming in but being warm under the duvet.

The feeling of a little hand slipping into yours as a toddler appears next to you.

FoxtrotOscarFoxtrotOscar · 05/09/2023 18:07

A large milky coffee and a flaky croissant.

Cazzovuoi · 05/09/2023 18:07

My boy’s deep purring when he spoons me on the sofa or in bed.

Early morning coffee in the garden no matter what the weather.

The bubbly rush when the Moka is ready.

DoesNotPlayWellWithIdiots · 05/09/2023 18:13

Curling up on the sofa in the evening watching telly in my jammies with my dogs snuggled up beside me. Except it's just one dog now because I lost my boy a couple of weeks ago. His big clumsy presence is desperately missed 😓

ohsuzannah · 05/09/2023 18:14

Sitting on in the garden in the shade with my feet in a bucket of cold water 😂

Spudlover · 05/09/2023 18:17

A pint of shandy at the end of a good hike, especially a sunny one.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 05/09/2023 18:17

Fresh bread, salted butter and cherry tomatoes.

Lessstressedhemum · 05/09/2023 18:20

Lying in my zero gravity chair in the sun, listening to the birds and watching them on my feeders
Sitting on the rocks watching the sea.

ThinkingAgainAndAgain · 05/09/2023 18:23

Watching tennis on the TV with a cold Diet Coke.

Thinking you’ve eaten the last of the chocolate and it turns out that there’s some left.

SilverGlitterBaubles · 05/09/2023 18:25

Having a chilled glass of wine in the garden on a sunny evening 😎

justsayso · 05/09/2023 18:28

Walking through broadleaf woodland or holloways and seeing the sunlight filtering through the leaves. Likewise watching light reflecting on water. The smell of the cut hay in the fields. The hazy mornings of September. It's good to be alive!!

blahblahblah1654 · 05/09/2023 18:30

Cold buttered white toast

Bigbus · 05/09/2023 18:32

A light breeze on a warm day

TerrorOwls · 05/09/2023 18:33

Mine is walking in the forest too. Love the streams of light filtering through the canopy. The smell in the forest when it's not damp is amazing.
The smell of wood and pine especially. Just so calming.

cheeseisthebest · 05/09/2023 18:33

Agree with all of these but also being in my car on my own singing along to music very loudly. Always cheers me up!

Weepingwillows12 · 05/09/2023 18:33

Smell of fresh cut grass.
Fresh bedding on.
Watching the kids belly laugh about something.
Walking down a tree lined lane.
Those sunny but crisp days in autumn.
Smell of rain on hot pavement.
Paddling in the sea.
Fresh baguette with butter, cheese, ham.

A day in the house on my own to read a really good book.
Watching plants gradually grow day by day over a season.
That really bright green that the trees and plants are in spring / May

Wrennie24 · 05/09/2023 18:36

My grown up children's shoes in the hall when they visit.

Naimee87 · 05/09/2023 18:36

Walking my Dog in the countryside when its almost chilly, lovely and grey and raining… just the most calming and relaxing thing i love doing

DinosApple · 05/09/2023 18:37

Walking up the track in my favourite place in the height of summer. Hearing the crickets and eating blackberries.

Reading a book somewhere quiet, cosy and comfortable.

A trip to the beach with DC and playing dare with the waves (teen and nearly teen).
