What's your simple pleasure?

For me, today, it is sitting in the hammock under the trees listening to the radio while the sun shines.

Enough of that kind of nonsense.

You have absolutely no idea what the poster may be contending with in life that does indeed make her time in her hammock in the garden a simple pleasure.

I’ve just bought one of those swinging egg seats. Seeing this comment, can’t wait to relax in it, reading whilst wrapped up in a soft fleece blanket.

A piping cup hot of tea

The first sip of the first cup of coffee of the day.
A pint of bitter and a packet of cheese and onion crisps in the pub after a whole day walking- absolute heaven.

Clean sheet day!

I came home and sat in the garden swinging in the egg chair for an hour. It was so relaxing and therapeutic and provided some much needed winding down time.

I was rudely interrupted by the brat 9ver the fence screaming that he was doing a poo. His voice was so loud from the bathroom I could hear him clearly in my garden. I retaliated by blasting Billy Eilish on full volume until his mum complained about the noise & slammed the window shut. Keep your kid on a muzzle Mrs. With the noisy kid. Thank you

Sleep.... deep, perfect sleep.

I thought that was just me!!! I love it too.

Getting into a beautifully made bed.
My cat purring on my knee at the end of the day.
Doing something that I've been putting off for a while.
Hearing my children laugh.
Listening to my heart beat and feeling thankful to be here.
Scones.
The smell of rain after a spell of hot weather.
Birds having a bath in the garden.
Having a bath in the bathroom.

The smell of line dried clothes

Taking off my day clothes and putting on my big oodie sleep tee

Lying in bed with my children beside me

A cold can of coke

Sitting down with a cup of tea when the toddlers gone for a nap, the house is quiet and listening to the dishwasher countering away

Sitting in the sun, with a book and a cold drink, with no other commitments for the day.

Friday night, after work, the big contented sigh after you put on you clean pyjamas once you're out of the shower. Such a great feeling.

•Walking on dry crunchy grass in bare feet.
•Those not quite hot yet mornings on holiday with a glass of fruit juice where you just know its going to be a scorcher.
•An autumn/winter morning in pyjamas on the sofa with a hot cup of tea and a bowl of porridge and no where to be.
•friends gathered around a table with a glass of delicious good quality wine and nice food.
•A dog walk somewhere new, beautiful countryside and excellent company.

My children going back to school after a fun but full on summer holiday!

A really good cup of freshly brewed dark roast coffee first thing in the morning. With cream.

And because I live in a warm climate where it has been punishingly hot all summer (Southern US), that first day where there is a slight break in the weather and you can feel just a hint of autumn in the air.

Having a bath before bed, with legs shaved etc then into clean PJ’s and clean sheets on the bed, with a cup of tea and a good book.

In winter the sheets have to be brushed cotton. In summer I open the window and listen to the sounds of a warm summers evening before my hayfever kicks in and I turn into a snotty sneezy mess

All of these and:

A sea swim after work, floating on my back staring at the sky. Nothing more relaxing.

A simple homemade sandwiches picnic in the park with DD7 and DD7months in the sun.

Crisp glass of New Zealand Sauvignon on a Friday evening at the pub.

Putting up my Christmas decorations with a prosecco and chambord with Christmas songs on dancing with my babies.

That first cuppa of the day, even better if I’m the first one up and enjoy it in total peace whilst looking into the garden

Cashmere socks, cup of tea, scented candle on and good book.
curling up by the fire on a freezing day after a long walk
hearing my children play and laugh with each other
listening to my very patient son teaching his sister her times tables
hugs from my children and my husband
glass of Prosecco outside on a warm Friday evening

My view. Fills me with joy everyday..
