What dumb thing has taken you forever to realise?

Nights in white satin song was playing in the car today. A favourite song of mine so I was singing along and it dawned on me that the word is "nights," not "knights".

Whole song makes much more sense now 😳

I had a similar issue with "Toyota, the car in front" but it's a Nissan I'm behind (or other car brand).

And in the film Winnie the Pooh where the gopher says "I'm not in the book" and I thought it was the phone book😬 for decades!

I promise I'm intelligent.

Tenerife isn't a country. It's one of the Canary Islands.

It’s not KP nuts, but it is K peanuts.

They are KP nuts; the company producing them was originally called Kenyon Produce, and is now known as KP Snacks. So, KP nuts are just the nut varieties distributed by KP Snacks, versus, say, KP crisps, or any other one of their product lines.

Shameful but it took me until Ray came out in the early noughties to realise that Ray Charles was not Ray Allen (the 70s/80s TV ventriloquist act, never seen near a piano or without with his monocled sidekick Lord Charles). Admittedly I hadn’t been thinking about it constantly in the intervening decades but I do remember when I was about twelve hearing him on the radio and wondering why he didn’t scrap the posho dummy and just go all in on the singing.

I went to Yosemite this year and it did take me a while to get my head around the proper pronunciation when discussing where I was going on my holiday!

I only know how to pronounce it because of Yosemite Sam from Looney Tunes 😁

In the good old days, there were phone books with peoples names, addresses and phone numbers in. You could choose to be in there or be ex directory.

It’s actually ‘he’s got his strong beliefs’.

Wow, never knew this either. I always thought it was trombolese and thought it was perhaps a musical instrument. 😂😂 I actually feel really stupid right now.

I was about 35 when I realised the wombles were from Wimbledon Common, not that they were from Wimbledon and were common.

There’s a big arrow in the middle of the FedEx logo too.

In the Amazon logo there is an arrow pointing from the letter A towards the Z. I always just thought it was a fairly crap logo with a curved line underneath the name.
