DS (5) has always been completely unimaginative when it comes to naming teddies. Lots of Huggy Bears and Monkey/Rabbit etc... He decided to rename two tonight, and we now have Screwdriver and Walmart. No idea where those names have come from!

When DS2 was little, he wasn't particularly creative with his teddy's names. The first one was simply called "Teddy". The next one that arrived was bigger and, understandably, was quickly named "Big Teddy". Same with the next one, who was "Little Teddy". All very simple and user-friendly.

When my sister bought him another, I wondered if the tried and tested naming pattern would fall apart. But, he threw us a curve ball and named him "Caroline" (and referred to it as 'him').
I've no idea how he even knew of the name. I didn't know any Carolines.

My brother had one called God. It was a very small, ordinary pale blue bear given to him by our grandad, who was very religious. My brother thought he would be pleased that the teddy was named after his favourite person.

Ds mostly lacked imagination when naming bears (Owly, Horsey, Snakey etc) but referred to them collectively as his Bibbies - no idea why! But he did name his Guinea pig pizza-man, which got us a few funny looks at the vets Grin

I had a friend whose parents were both medical and very into accurate terminology, frank discussions etc.

All good until the little sister called her elephant teddy 'Vagina'...
