DS (5) has always been completely unimaginative when it comes to naming teddies. Lots of Huggy Bears and Monkey/Rabbit etc... He decided to rename two tonight, and we now have Screwdriver and Walmart. No idea where those names have come from!

Bumby-Bum-Bear. Both DC have the same bear, and they both have the same name🙄

historygeek · 20/08/2023 22:00

Not a teddy, but DS has a wooden sword named "Glorious" who uses the pronouns "she/ her"

BerylWiddicombe · 20/08/2023 22:01

Love this! Nothing to add. We have Dinosaur, Bear and The Other Bear here.

Downdoneandout · 20/08/2023 22:01

We have a cuddly pig she named ‘I Can’t Wait to Get my Presents at Christmas’ when she was 3.

Seriously. The piggy still has its full name nearly 2 years on…

My daughter got a bird soft toy from the zoo when she was 2, we asked her what she was gonna call him and she said "twatty"

He soon became Tatty instead

This has just made me and DH laugh, nice change though.

Lindy2 · 20/08/2023 22:04

Horny for a cuddly unicorn. 🤔I gently persuaded her that Uni might suit it better.

MaraScottie · 20/08/2023 22:05

A teddy cow called 'Hang-hong'

Bloatstoat · 20/08/2023 22:06

I love Greenie the tape measure Grin

DD1 has always been very into dolls, not so good with names - we have Pink Baby (arrived dressed in pink), Big Baby (bigger than the first one) and Wild Hair Dolly (lots of hair that she can't get a brush through).

DS has a bear called Stan, no idea why.

HornedBeefCash · 20/08/2023 22:07

My dc have always had pretty logical names for their cuddly toys.
I can't say the same for myself though.
I used to have an Orville the duck Teddy that I named 'green beak' it had an orange beak 😆

MellowMelly · 20/08/2023 22:09

I have a Teddy here called Boris Johnson

Derek

Ds also has a Derek. He's a frog pyjama case. Although DS had always kept a lip balm in it in case he needs one in the Night.

Razberryberet · 20/08/2023 22:09

A weird bird puppet thing with a long beak dd called pecker she then proceeded to ask us all would we like to stroke her pecker 😂 I've suggested other names but pecker it remains.

DuckonaBike · 20/08/2023 22:11

A girl at my daughter’s primary school had a teddy she decided to call Wanker. I think she announced it a school and the teacher had to explain awkwardly that it wasn’t appropriate.

clpsmum · 20/08/2023 22:11

We have a tartan and a teacup

Awumminnscotland · 20/08/2023 22:11

We have a baby doll called hardbargain. I don't know why. And a doll called Kevin.. because I mentioned it looked like Kevin keegan with long curly hair, so it stuck.

clpsmum · 20/08/2023 22:12

I had monkey monk when I was a kid.

Gardenerboo · 20/08/2023 22:15

ChristmasCrumpet · 20/08/2023 22:16

We have a bear called "Sad Lonely Guy"

And a small pink hamster looking thing called 'Pig"

MyOtherCarIsAPorsche · 20/08/2023 22:18

My granddaughter has dolls named Papilla and Coyus.

She would shout 'Dance Papilla! Dance Coyus!' and jiggle the dolls about aggressively.

When my granddaughter sees her Aunty (my younger daughter) she always shouts 'Dance Coyus!'

No idea where either name came from or why she attached one to Aunty.

When anyone dances now we shout 'Dance Coyus!'

MeowMewMoo · 20/08/2023 22:18

we had a giraffe called “Wuz” no idea how or why 😂

letmesailletmesail · 20/08/2023 22:19

When DS started nursery, he had a jellycat elephant as his comfort toy. Another boy had the exact same one and the staff were a bit nervous about how to distinguish them. It turned out to be fine. The other boy called his toy "Elephant" whilst ours was Mr Elephant
