Or just can't get for whatever reason.

Currently really fancying the ww chicken & wedges, it was in a nice tomato sauce but I also really miss the slimming world tomato and bean soup that came in a pouch.

I realise these are both diet foods and tomato based, maybe I should just go and make a tomato salad 😂

@SpamandSparkle Yes they were lovely! It's really difficult to find French set yoghurts here now

Chichz · 26/08/2023 20:46

@GigiAnnna Wasn't it just! Glad I wasn't the only one 😋

Yeah, I remember having them on my lunch break when I worked there aged 16. People rave about Greggs but imo it used to be so much better. They had more of a selection with the sandwiches, eg prawn Marie Rose, cheese savouries, chicken and mango mayonnaise, tuna crunch, all sorts of sandwiches on different types of bread/ baguettes. It's not the same anymore.

Greggs became dead to me when they wouldn't butter a baquette I was buying to go with a tin of soup at work. Fuck knows why.

Magnum Ego.

The best ice cream-on-a-stick, bar none - everything that's available now is disappointing in comparison.

Still think about them, they were super delish and massive to boot.

Does anyone remember these biscuits...
From the 70s. I think they were called Duchy. Round shortcake like biscuits with a scrolled flag design on the top with counties of the UK written on the scrolls...im from Gloucestershire and got particularly excited when I got a biscuit with Gloucestershire on it! No one remembers these biscuits.....im beginning to think I dreamt them!

Again from tge 70s...yummy chocolate mousses called Lovely. Like a Casburys desert....but the original and best! In a little tob with a cardboard lid. Velvety smooth creamy choc desert with little blobs in cream on tge top. Came frozen....ate many a semi frozen Lovely....they were so delish I couldn't wait for them to fully thaw out!

Does anyone remember having Delrosa rosehip syrup as a child?

Yes I do, also Virol Malt Extract, which tasted nice. Was the rose hip for vitamin C?

Coralie1 · 27/08/2023 09:06

@BonnieLisbon Yes we used to get it as a drink when we had a cold. It was lovely!

Chichz · 27/08/2023 19:37

@GigiAnnna Tuna crunch! Was that in a baguette with the ends chopped off?

Their sarnis used to be amazing.

mum2jakie · 27/08/2023 19:50

I loved the tuna crunch too. Greggs used to sell it in a lovely bun - think it was seeded. Then they only sold it on a crusty baguette which wasn't half as nice so I stopped buying it.

It was on either white or brown big slices or bread called the Xtra Bite. It had peppers on. They did do soft and hard baguettes as well but they were just salad, no peppers. This was around 2004.

mum2jakie · 27/08/2023 21:21

That was it - it was lovely thick bloomer style bread and it had peppers in the mix. The taste just wasn't the same in a crusty baguette. Wish they would bring it back

I liked the Gregg's cheese savoury sandwich!

HeartshapedFox · 27/08/2023 21:38

Mr Kipling did a limited edition orange tea cake type thing in the 1990s called Malloweens and I absolutely loved them.

You’ve just reminded me of Mr Kiplings chocolate and nut slices, I loved those and the apple and custard pies!

Sara Lee double chocolate gateau 👌🏼

We used to get this microwave chocolate pudding, you mixed up the batter and cooked it in the little bowl. Had a chocolate sauce mix too... so good!

Bitz bars - mint 👌🏼

Munch bunch Charlie chocolate yoghurt

M&S chicken tikka masala, my nam used to get it for me. They changed the recipe about 30 years ago and I still miss it!

AcesBaseballbat · 05/09/2023 13:51

I was under the impression Cadbury's Christmas Puddings had been discontinued, but I just bought a box in Sainsburys last week. (In August!!)

AperfectMess · 05/09/2023 15:43

Speaking of the gorgeous tuna crunch in the soft bun, does anyone remember the chicken and mango one? It was amazing!

Also, what happened to the Greggs pizza baguette? It was a toasted baguette halved with a beautiful tasty tomato pizza sauce and cheese grilled. It used to be loaded with toppings and stuck to the paper bag, especially if you manged to get a fresh warm one. The thick stodgy pizza slices they replaced it for are cheap and nasty, even my dcs wouldn't eat it.

Brannigans, Roast beef and mustard crips
Ice magic the chocolate sauce stuff you poured on ice cream in the 80,s and it hardened.

Farm Foods do the chocolate cracking sauce! Got some last year!

newnamethanks · 03/02/2024 08:24

M&S made a lovely butterscotch tart, thin pastry, butterscotch filling, thin layer of dark chocolate covering. Family size. A forerunner of milionaires shortbread I suppose but so much better constructed. Still miss it.

SinnerBoy · 03/02/2024 14:05

Does anyone remember hedgehog flavoured crisps?

MoonWoman69 · 03/02/2024 14:55

Yes in the 80's! There was hell on as everyone thought they were real hedgehog!!!

I miss -
Icebreaker
M and S lemon syllabub
Rainbow Drops
Satin Pillows
Turkey, cheese and ham burgers, think they were Bernard Matthews?
Cabana
Texan
Root Beer
McRib
1970's KFC, not that junk they dish out today
Decent Chinese takeaways
Golden Cup
Proper Lucozade in glass bottles and orange cellophane
WW tins of white wine and dill sauce, that was gorgeous!

SinnerBoy · 03/02/2024 16:45

I remember enjoying Cabanas, even though I'm not a massive chocolate fan.
