Hello, feeling really tired and fed up today, can't seem to motivate myself to do the things I should be doing, anyone else feel down today?

I am just relieved that I am now being heard, and they're trying to help. At least they are not being dismissive now of my symptoms. Hoping tomorrow will be a better day @jeffgoldblum .

jeffgoldblum · 17/08/2023 18:19

I hope so too , for you @Needingacoffee , it's hard but try to stay positive x

I will try my best not to worry, but stay positive @jeffgoldblum .

jeffgoldblum · 17/08/2023 18:38

You can do it @Needingacoffee 👍

Thank you @jeffgoldblum. 😊👌

AliceOlive · 20/08/2023 14:26

How is everyone today and what are you up to?

I have bread rising (a favorite no-knead recipe) and am getting things out to cook a nice breakfast.

DH and puppy are both asleep. He took the night shift so I relieved him around 500am and told him to sleep in. Kitties are harassing me for second breakfast.

We have an event to attend later that should be fun, a benefit for a local park.

Puppy has learned commands come, go pee pee and I think she knows sit. So I’m feeling super!!

jeffgoldblum · 20/08/2023 14:30

Sounds good @AliceOlive , I've steam cleaned the toilet and fixed the robot vacuum watched the end of the football and am considering steaming the kitchen!
My life is gripping as you can tell! 🤣🤣

Any news @Needingacoffee ? Hope you are feeling ok today.

Judellie · 20/08/2023 19:03

As my foot is just about sorted now, managed to go and see the Barbie movie on Friday night (brilliant), took my husband to Wickes yesterday and today I went shopping at Tesco, made the Sunday dinner, delivered my daughter to her friend's for a party and then went to visit my mum with my son. I also won a £10 Tesco voucher on their Kopparberg competition which i entered when the football was on.
Can't remember who wanted book recommendations but I took 'Love Untold' by Ruth Jones on holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Lovely to hear updates from everyone, hope those having problems are getting sorted xx

AliceOlive · 20/08/2023 20:35

@Judellie sounds fun and productive! How was the Barbie movie? I haven’t seen it yet. I’ll check out the book.

AliceOlive · 20/08/2023 20:37

Oh you wrote brilliant Re: Barbie movie. Sorry, trying to get myself together for this party. No idea what I’m wearing and I have 45 mins. 🤣. Top choice (for weather and style) looked great on me about ten years ago. It’s a gamble.

Maireas · 20/08/2023 20:48

I went to the hairdresser yesterday. I had my usual wet cut/blow dry. It takes about half an hour and costs me £68. I got out the clippers today and did my husband and son, both no.2, quick and simple.
It is much easier being a man. Plus: they both look great.

Needingacoffee · 20/08/2023 21:49

I have had one of my better days. I am just waiting for my next big crash in energy. Thought I'd be more tired today than I actually have been @AliceOlive .

Maireas · 21/08/2023 08:07

I'm glad you had a better day, @Needingacoffee fingers crossed that today is good 👍

jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:01

Sounds promising @Needingacoffee 👍 , hope your party was fun @AliceOlive! , glad foot a bit better@Judellie!
I'm sure you look fabulous @Maireas! 🥰

Maireas · 21/08/2023 10:10

Why thank you, @jeffgoldblum 😘!
My hair is 1a. The phrase "poker straight" is apt. So I have a very blunt cut, which looks terrible if it isn't precise. So, I am pleased with it!

jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:24

👍 @Maireas, I too have extremely straight hair! , in my youth I looked like Neil from the young ones! 🤣 , it's fine now straight is more fashionable but growing up in the eighties was hard !! Ohh the multiple perms the back combing ! , the industrial amount of hair spray! , I'm sure it was my personal fault there was a hole in the ozone layer! 😳

OP posts:
Maireas · 21/08/2023 10:29

You're preaching to the choir, sister! It was awful in the 80s, the time of perms and Big Hair! I disliked my hair. Plus I stood out in my family. When it was my First Holy Communion my mum put curlers in it, to try to make it look better. I've learned to love it - it's always glossy and shiny, needs no products, I comb it and leave it, all good. But it's taken years!

jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:45

Yep! , I'm lucky in a way now! , no real need for straightners , I just wave a hair dryer at it and it obligingly goes straight! 🤣, however I do miss the body and my fringe does odd things in any amount of humidity! , do you know hairdressers don't know how to do proper perm's anymore!
I was asking my hairdresser and she said they don't even teach it anymore!

OP posts:
Maireas · 21/08/2023 10:47

Good grief. I never thought I'd see the day.
Yep, never had a need for hair straighteners. Or conditioner. Bliss.

bbc one bear GIF by BBC

How do.

There are two loads of washing done and a ruddy great skelp of things to do on the first of two proper days off.

Alas I’ve been sooked in to three episodes of I, Claudius. Thank you BBC4. I don’t need much persuading to shirk some stuff for an hour or three.

I need to prep the supper - stewing steak and tatties and a slack handful of veg. Only now my dad has decided he does not care for potatoes unless they present themselves as chips or roasties. More faff. He does not care for veg (or salad) either but he’ll get no choice in that.

I’m trying to chivvy myself to do housework.

On hair? Mine is grey and a bit wiry. It falls out in handfuls when I get stressy/hard pressed. I’m like a porcupine.

And this one has a matching face!

jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:52

I don't even bother with makeup anymore either just moisturise and go!
Life is so much easier!
And finally I see that old boyfriends and family were right, I do look fine and the same without it ! 🤣

OP posts:
jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:56

Welcome @ArcaneWireless !!
Great gif and great to see you!
I'm sure you look just as cute 🥰
Meat and potatoes eh ? My dh is Scottish and was a meat and potato man , which made his insistence on doing the keto diet, both baffling and a source of great handwringing stress for me! 🤣🤣!

OP posts:
jeffgoldblum · 21/08/2023 10:58

As for house work! Well whatever you do today you have to do tomorrow, so why not cut out the middleman and leave today out? ( that's my excuse!)

OP posts:
Maireas · 21/08/2023 11:07

Love the porcupine, @ArcaneWireless !! 😂
I, Claudius....worth watching? I know it was regarded as must see viewing at the time.
Your dad will eat what's put down to him no doubt, but he's obviously a man who values plain food!
