I don't think I've EVER been bored

Really, never Confused

With access to the internet for 30 years now there's always books/articles - anything 🤷‍♀️ to read

Plus going out for walks, tv watching, playing games, dogs to cuddle

I just can't imagine ever being bored

Were you not bored before you thought to write and tell us?

Inowseeyourtruecolorsandredflagswhattookmesolong · 12/08/2023 15:48

Jolly good 🤷

AllAboutMargot · 12/08/2023 15:49

Congrats! Here's a biscuit Biscuit

WantingToEducate · 12/08/2023 15:50

I’m really bored right now.

doroda · 12/08/2023 15:50

I think if you're spending your time on a forum announcing to a bunch of strangers that you've never been bored, then you probably are actually quite bored.

Thisismyartform · 12/08/2023 15:51

Bet your mum remembers differently 😬

Lightningspeed · 12/08/2023 15:51

Good for you Hmm

gothshot · 12/08/2023 15:52

Great?

LauderSyme · 12/08/2023 15:53

Do you think you have a fairly low entertainment threshold?

NoStrangertotheRain · 12/08/2023 15:54

Why do people have to give such arsey replies to an OP?

There's actually an interesting conversation to be had.

GalileoHumpkins · 12/08/2023 15:54

I think many people see boredom as some kind of personal failing or an admittance that their lives aren't as busy and interesting as they'd like us to believe.
It's ok to be bored, it's not ok to be totally lacking in imagination though.

LaurieFairyCake · 12/08/2023 15:57

Lol 😂

I SHOULD have asked you all 'Anyone else never get bored'?

I knew there was something I missed from this post

mydogspooeybum · 12/08/2023 15:59

Of course you've been bored. Everyone has been bored at some stage.

Just because you have such a rich and fulfilling life, you obviously can't remember a time when you were bored

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/08/2023 16:01

I don't think that having nothing to do is always, or even often, a reason that people are bored. I quite like a bit of 'nothing' like sitting indoors watching the rain. Having nothing to do leads to creativity I think, I generally have a load of projects floating around my brain (quilting, sewing, crochet) that aren't quite right and they need a bit of ruminating to come up with the thing that makes them work.

What bores me is things like being in work meetings that could have been a quick email, where I can't even let my brain drift off because someone might ask for my input. Or that dinner party where one of the guests gave a long, long diatribe on why atheists can never really be 'good', only people guided by God can be morally upright and good.

BananaStraw · 12/08/2023 16:02

I agree OP. I'm the same. Too many things to do ( or to procrastinate about) to be bored. And little things please me :)

LauderSyme · 12/08/2023 16:02

I wasn't trying to be that arsey! Genuine question. Some people must be more easily entertained than others.

I think it might actually be good for us to be bored now and then. Provides some brain space and allows one to 'just be' and is said to foster creativity.

MotherofGorgons · 12/08/2023 16:03

Some people really are more easily entertained than others. I don't mean that in an arsey way. I get bored often.

BananaStraw · 12/08/2023 16:04

Oh actually @BlackAmericanoNoSugar yes I agree, I sometimes get bored when I am in a work meeting.

MotherofGorgons · 12/08/2023 16:04

One of my deep regrets is that I don't play a sport or do a craft.

JessicaPeach · 12/08/2023 16:04

I often find myself saying annoying mum things to my kids like 'I wish I had the TIME to be bored!' But yes, I'm not one to get bored either

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 12/08/2023 16:06

Some people have a low boredom threshold. Some are more easily entertained.

I am in the first category. I do get bored very easily, especially when I have to do stuff that I don't find interesting. But on the positive side, my low boredom threshold pushes me to do lots of interesting and exciting things.

I reckon if I could be easily satisfied by reading a few articles on the Internet, I would never leave my bed!!BlushGrin

It's never too late to start?

Do you work, op? Or have any obligations beyond entertaining yourself however you choose?

Is there something stopping you?

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 12/08/2023 16:08

I say to my kids "only boring people get bored" but it's nuanced.

On my own, free time, I never get bored. There is always something to do which I enjoy. But at work, gosh, some days I'd rather drill my eyes than sit through some of the boring training or meetings we have.

So, no I don't think it's possible to never be bored, but when you're in control of your own time I can't imagine being bored as rectifying it is as simple as picking up a book.
