Nicest celebrity you've ever met?

nicestcelebs · 09/08/2023 22:34

Mine is Mel C / Sporty Spice,

Met her recently in a totally non-celeb type situation and - with hindsight - should probably have left her be. But the inner 1990s teen in me was compelled to approach her. Was completely starstruck since having a girl crush on her since the mid 1990s so said hello.

She was SO NICE, chatty, just lovely, down to earth friendly and beautiful.

Really even more in awe of her than ever now, tbh.

Lol I've just realised I started this bloody thread 😂

That's tickled me!

I mentioned this on the other celeb thread, but Delia Smith is truly one of the loveliest people imaginable. I met her at the football about 20yrs ago, when The Delia Effect was MASSIVE, but you genuinely would not have known she was so famous. She was an absolute hoot, really warm, engaging, she hugged everyone and at one point she was chatting to one of the team and suddenly said 'oh hang on, sorry... PETER! Peter! You made it! Come over here!' Peter turned out to be something like her aunt's gardener & she'd sorted for him to have a proper corporate hospitality afternoon out at Carrow Road.
She was just one of those people who gives out a lovely warmth and seems to genuinely care about whoever she's speaking to. And she has a lovely giggle too!

Stereophonics are lovely

Yes! Totally normal and lovely

Rah88 · 14/12/2023 06:12

Met lots over the years and most have been lovely. Gary Lineker was the best - absolute gentleman - he was brilliant.

Elvanseshortage · 14/12/2023 06:19

I met Queen Victoria in our local park feeding squirrels. She was so down to earth.

MrsJamin · 14/12/2023 06:52

DH and I met Derren Brown briefly after a show and he was lovely, very down to earth. He saw DH a few years later and remembered everything that we'd told him, names of children etc, it was clear he used his clever skills to be really nice which was so very sweet.

That's like the buggy thread, OP. Did you ever see that? There were only two posts on it. One was the OP who started it asking a question about a buggy and the other was the op who answered it a long time later.

Most celebs are nice when you meet them socially, but what if you get caught trespassing on their land?
We were in Holland a few years ago to see the flowers. While driving we spotted a field of flowers with no fence!
Wanting a photo opportunity amongst the flowers we carefully walked into the field. After a few minutes a tall blonde man appeared as if from nowhere and said hello in a friendly way. It was Roy Batty aka Rutger Hauer who played the chief homicidal maniac opposite Harrison Ford in the original Blade Runner (1982) film.
He asked us where we were from, he then said "well if you are from the U.K. that makes you tourists, and if you are tourists you must have a souvenir". He then picked us a flower and gave it to us, we left feeling totally star struck!

Dave Allen was very pleasant.

spidermonkeys · 14/12/2023 07:53

Rylan. Absolutely lovely and incredibly kind.

SmugglersHaunt · 14/12/2023 08:05

Pamela Anderson was lovely and friendly

Was it his field? 🌷

I bumped in to 2pac last year, lovely guy and gorgeous, very happy to chat

What a sick thing to write.

Via a "friend of a friend" type situation, I had tea and biscuits with Anthony Hopkins backstage at the National Theatre when he was King Lear in the late 80s. He was lovely, like catching up with an uncle who'd been away for a few years.

Yes, he has sadly passed now, but I read in his bio that after travelling the world and a long career in acting, he retired to grow flowers in Holland.

Princess Diana was a patron of a charity I was part of as a child, she came to an event and I stood in a line up and met her. I had never understood what the fuss was about with her looks-wise before then, but I have to say in the flesh she was stunning - not just because she was famous/Princess Diana - she really was beautiful. And incredibly tall!

maddiemookins16mum · 06/01/2024 21:52

I spent 5 days helping the BBC Holiday TV show when they came out to the resort in Greece I managed for a big Tour Operator over 30 years ago. The presenter of the segment was of course Jill Dando.

She was incredibly charming, beautiful and had a wicked sense of humour.

Barch1 · 04/02/2024 13:04

The actor Peter Gan, a lovely human being

Barch1 · 04/02/2024 13:05

Sorry meant Peter Egan!!!

MintyCedric · 08/02/2024 21:11

@Barch1 I exchanged a few tweets with Peter Egan a few years ago…he lost his wife about the same time as I lost my dad. He is such a lovely man.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 08/02/2024 21:56

Anthony Hopkins.
We had tea and biscuits, lovely chap, very kind abd self deprecating

Johnny Ball (I grew up in the 70s/80s when he was a celeb) - and he was as high energy as your expect.

Louise303 · 09/02/2024 00:41

Alicia Keys was so lovely and friendly even gave a hug without asking the only celeb I hated was Ricky Gervais. Had breakfast with a friend at a London hotel it was early and not busy at the time. There was a man that kept staring with a sulky look on his face we did not know who he was.It was only when he left the waitress said he was a famous comedian. She told us he was always like that he thought everyone recognised him and was not nice to serve.

tobyiana · 09/02/2024 00:42

The Queen

RavingStyle · 09/02/2024 17:01
