Nicest celebrity you've ever met?

Mine is Mel C / Sporty Spice,

Met her recently in a totally non-celeb type situation and - with hindsight - should probably have left her be. But the inner 1990s teen in me was compelled to approach her. Was completely starstruck since having a girl crush on her since the mid 1990s so said hello.

She was SO NICE, chatty, just lovely, down to earth friendly and beautiful.

Really even more in awe of her than ever now, tbh.

My friend who has met all the same people as me also said Joanna Lumley was amazing! But she recently met Jackie Corkhill and she said she is her new fave

my mum worked for sky years ago was on maternity leave, took my lil sister in to see her work mates and Brian dowling was there and he was holding my sister for about 5 minutes, my mum said he’s really funny aswell.

Met a star from Buffy once and didn't approach her. She started a conversation about the place we were and was so lovely. Chatted about a few things..it was great until some fans came over and she basically had to leave.

I really liked Bill Bailey as well

Oh he is a delight isn't he? I didn't formally meet him but I was in the audience for a recording of Black Books in 2003 and he chatted with the audience for ages. He was supposed to be on his break but wanted to chat. Lovely bloke.

Met Eric Bristow in the early 80s too. He was so lovely, my Grandad had him chatting for ages

Leonardo DiCaprio. Met him at a film premiere some years ago. He was absolutely lovely. Smile He walked around the crowd (who had been waiting outside for him for 4-6 hours) for around three quarters of an hour. Made sure everyone got a glimpse and/or a chat - and some pics. Me and DD got a quick chat and a selfie with him.

leonardo is a big donor to indigenous communities and heavily funds a girls school on a reservation in the United States.

the kindest celebrity I ever met was billy joel. I was just a kid, but he treated me with wild kindness and patience. My mother used to work in a movie studio and she always said Brooke shields was one of the nicest people who encountered.

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 09/08/2023 23:26

Darius, RIP he was lovely

TheHouseElf · 09/08/2023 23:26

Without question its Pamela Stephenson. I used to work in the book industry so met a lot of celebs and writers due to that, and she was the most polite, down-to-earth one I encountered. Second would be Gordon Ramsey, who funnily enough was again very polite in person.

thaegumathteth · 09/08/2023 23:26

Tom Fletcher was actually much nicer than I thought he might be and was lovely to the kids

IvorBunyon · 09/08/2023 23:30

Des Lynham. A true gent.

And Joe Swash. He’s a proper “geezer” and so down to earth.

GoodMorningHoney · 09/08/2023 23:39

Lady Gaga. So down to earth and captivating when you talk to her. She makes you feel like only your voice matters

ArianaGrande · 09/08/2023 23:40

Paul McCartney,very humble and chatty.

Slash,super friendly.

Liam Gallagher!

GeneandFred · 10/08/2023 00:24

Cliff Richard was lovely, kind and very down to earth.

Ant and Dec, met them as PJ and Duncan and they were lovely, down to earth lads.

Jenny Frost from Atomic Kitten is stunning, friendly and like ya best mate. Just gorgeous ❤️

SinnerBoy · 10/08/2023 00:25

Jeremy Beecham, I used to see him about in a district of Newcastle. I got talking to him and said, "Oh, I know you!"

He looked quite scared, but I started to talk about how I thought he did a good job. He used to make a fuss of my Labrador and always greeted her by name.

elliejjtiny · 10/08/2023 00:27

I met the guy who plays the number taker from number jacks. Really nice man.

Lady gaga by a mile and I've met quite a few in my previous work. Absolutely captivating and spiritual. Draws you right in. Such a positive vibe!

Tarkan · 10/08/2023 01:18

I was just talking about this to someone today but my mum used to speak to Robbie Coltrane regularly in our local newsagents when I was growing up and he was just so lovely (even when I was tiny and was petrified because I thought he was a giant). He used to shake my hand when he saw me because I was too scared to speak to him.

The author Ian Rankin is also so lovely and we chatted for ages about how hard it can be when studying creative writing while writing in certain genres which is what I was going through at the time and he really cemented in me that I should stick with what I was doing if that's what I loved to write.

Chris and Pui from CBeebies when my now 15yo was very young. Both of them were really sweet and Chris loved the phone case I had on my phone at the time (it had monkeys on it IIRC).

I was on The Chase many years ago now and Bradley Walsh was lovely to us all. We didn't see him outside of the studio though but there was a lot of time between filming and we had sections where we chatted that were cut out of the final episode. Plus he smelled absolutely amazing.

Silverseas1 · 10/08/2023 01:28

Judy Dench, an absolute angel, addressed me as if she was in awe of me 🤦‍♀️
Cilla Black (RIP) DH & I sat next to her & had a long chat in a bar in Holetown Barbados, she spoke about Bobby, shared a lift with Biggins & had a table next to Stephen Fry in a restaurant. The biggest surprise we had was being in the same Restaurant as William & Catherine & their entourage where we had a birds eye view of them from the upper level in the restaurant. This was when there were only rumours they were dating. We were polite & didn't take a photo although it was definitely tempting 🤣 Others I can't think of just now but those are the loveliest ones that spring to mind.

OhMerseyMe · 10/08/2023 01:36

Ummmm, sorry to burst your bubble but Tupac, also known as 2pac, passed away many years ago!

I met Ian Rankin at a promotional event, at Durham theatre. I bought a book and he signed it and I said that I was happy that Rebus liked Rory Gallagher and we had a blether about his music.

Kabbalah · 10/08/2023 02:33

Boris.
