Another day of rain due here - seems to be worst in the weekend lately.

Don't want to spend the day indoors moaning about it.

What is everyone up to today if your also facing a rainy day?

Film, popcorn and sofa day. Weather is rubbish and DH has taken the car to his grandparents so options very limited.

DumpedByText · 05/08/2023 10:16

Cleaning my under stairs cupboard which is a pit of doom! Watching Netflix and then going to my brothers later for food and copious amounts of wine 🍷😉🍷

Meeting friends for lunch then going to cinema to see Barbie 😊

Same!

Had a very wet dog walk
This afternoon I’m meeting my 2 daughters and we’re going to see Barbie, then they and their partners are coming to our house and we’re getting takeaway

Thriwit · 05/08/2023 10:18

I’m writing the final report for a module of my MSc. My brain hurts already! At least with the shitty weather I don’t feel guilty for not sorting the garden.
DS is making some kind of armour out of cardboard boxes & duct tape. DD is still in bed! She’s been doing a lot of origami dragons recently, so will probably do a lot of that. DH is going out this afternoon & evening for band practice.

Westfacing · 05/08/2023 10:19

Trying to convince myself to forget the weather and get out the door - need to do some last minute shopping for my week's holiday in France next week.

It's cold, wet, 13c, gloomy and windy today in London - feels like November!

Timeturnerplease · 05/08/2023 10:31

Hopefully unpacking from our trip to the Lakes. I say hopefully as 4yo and 2yo DDs will probably follow me upstairs and cause chaos. DH was going to take them to the park this afternoon to allow us to get sorted, but it’s torrential here (Sussex) so unlikely now. Might suggest he does painting with them instead 😂

lucysmam · 05/08/2023 10:37

I've just had breakfast & now drinking my first cuppa of the day. I didn't sleep very well at all so probably a slow and steady day at home doing something crafty. Probably finish Colour Monster props for work and a treasure chest I've been making. Maybe some crochet too because they won't take long.

I really want to head to a local shopping outlet still - have been trying for weeks to get there but not succeeded yet. I don't fancy going out in the rain with no hair...it's certainly a unique experience! Tbf, I should probably chill a bit after chemo 12/18 yesterday anyway.

I'll see if the girls fancy doing later on, but for now they're sleeping & it's peaceful 😊

Travelling to the Lake District 😁

I live in the Lakes and (miraculously) it isn't raining here.

InFiveMins · 05/08/2023 10:49

The weather is awful here today. I've been up a while, so did my chores early on and put a curry in the slowcooker to have for tea later. About to go out just to get some air and have a stroll but won't go too far. Will be home in a couple of hours and am determined to have a rest on the sofa watching a film or reading my book.

Redkatagain · 05/08/2023 10:53

Cooking the weekend roast. There is no law that says 'Thou shalt serve roast on Sunday'

Especially as tomorrow is the better day weather wise this weekend

Westfacing · 05/08/2023 10:54

A cheery thread, everyone is so upbeat about our terrible weather, even those camping or at the seaside Grin.

And for those who've lost your hair to chemo I hope your Saturday is filled with love, cake and wine!

edwinbear · 05/08/2023 10:55

DH and DC are in Cornwall visiting his parents, they’ve just got back from a very muddy ParkRun judging by the photos! I’m at home in London as I’m working next week, drinking coffee, watching England in the netball World Cup, then heading in to town to buy a new handbag. Will probably treat myself to a nice lunch out. Then will spend the rest of the afternoon taking advantage of the kids not being about and tidy up the bombshell that is my house.

UpUpUpU · 05/08/2023 10:56

We are having an inside day of Lego, movies and packing as we are off to guernsey this evening

Shergill15 · 05/08/2023 11:23

Lazy morning here, DD7 is watching some rubbish on Netflix. I'm trying to summon some motivation to carry on with a big (and long overdue) declutter and deep clean. DD has swimming lesson late afternoon, we might pop into town and have a nice coffee en route to that.

NotMoreRainPlease · 05/08/2023 11:43

Sitting ordering sunglasses for DH, looking at shoes to order, listening to the pouring rain cannot even see the fields next to us the rain is so bad, its chilly and I have to admit I have not moved off the top of the bed (except for coffee).

Rest of the day no idea film maybe, but not venturing out, may have the heating on later my feet are like blocks of ice, I have an excuse, I am on holiday here in the UK from hotter climes....

Yorkshiredolls · 05/08/2023 11:45

Been doing all those little DIY jobs that stack up around the house while the kids amused themselves playing upstairs this morning, and made a crustless quiche in oven for lunch. This afternoon we’ll
go out shopping for school shoes and trainers at the shopping outlet, thankfully the kids love shopping 6+3. If they’re good, ill treat them in the works

FannythePinkFlamingo · 05/08/2023 11:48

Working until 1. At home though so at least I don't have to go out in the rain. After, probably just veg with some TV. DH is meeting a friend so I have the house (and TV) to myself!

Stressybetty · 05/08/2023 11:58

Rubbish weather here too and only had about 4 hours sleep last night. So far had scrambled eggs on toast, 4 cups of tea and a mini strop from DH. 1 new arrival, 1 daycare and 3 going home on dog boarding. List of cleaning and tidying jobs to finish working through by Monday. Continuing watching Good Omens 2 later.

headcheffer · 05/08/2023 12:03

Actually relishing the rain today as it's cancelled a kids session at the local play park we were booked in for, and it's meant we can stay home. We've been out or away every weekend for two months and it's nice to be home. We've had sausage sandwiches for breakfast, watched some TV, been to Home Bargains for some baking and craft supplies to do this afternoon and now we are all about to join the baby in her lunchtime nap Grin This afternoon we are going to bake the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies and do some craft bits with the 3 year old. Then I've got pizza dough in the fridge as it's make your own pizza night. Tomorrow is a roast with Grandpa coming over which will be lovely.

MinnieMountain · 05/08/2023 12:52

Yay 😀 @garlictwist . The trains were messed up around Manchester as per usual but we’re on the train to Oxenholme now.

susihol · 05/08/2023 13:00

Was meant to be going to Reggaeland but I'm giving it a miss. Will catch up on housework today and get my Reggae fix tomorrow

Furries · 05/08/2023 13:02

I’m tackling some shredding. Having a declutter and found boxes of files that have moved with me but been shoved to the back of cupboards.

It’s been amusing looking at payslips and bank statements from 1990 onwards!

Might do a bit of diamond painting in a bit - currently working on a family photo for a friend. Then heading over early evening to do my mum’s food shopping.

Need to decide on something warming and comforting for dinner once I get home. Might pick up fresh chicken soup from M&S with some part-baked rolls.

Blanketpolicy · 05/08/2023 13:05

Some DIY this morning.

Going to test drive a used electric car we have reserved this afternoon and a bit nervous about it as havent driven one before (or an automatic). Also worried the sales man will bamboozle me with electric car facts!

LBOCS2 · 05/08/2023 13:09

We've done swimming lessons and the obligatory post-swim McDonalds and are now home and organising laundry from our holiday. Vaguely planning our next holiday(s) as I like to have something to look forward to, and I'm considering getting the drill out and cracking on with some DIY which has been hanging around for a while.

FormerlySpeckledyHen · 05/08/2023 13:14

Chucking it down here and getting worse by the minute. I’m leaving soon for the first match of the football ⚽️ season. Arrrrgggh.
