Another day of rain due here - seems to be worst in the weekend lately.

Don't want to spend the day indoors moaning about it.

What is everyone up to today if your also facing a rainy day?

Carrying on with a house deep clean and declutter. Today is the living room. Also packing for a couple of days oop north to see family and some ironing. Might even squeeze in a tip run if the excitement gets to much!

That pretty much sums up my day!!!

I'm finishing the bathroom I've painted this week and tip run and ironing.

Then trying out my new hoover 😁

I’m in the middle of a psoriasis flare up and really uncomfortable so not inclined to do much!

Currently sat in bed diving the youngest a bottle while toddler DD is sniffled up with me. We have the Gruffalo on and DH is getting teas.

Later, the library to swap their books. Some tidying. DD asked yesterday about making a cake. And we need to jump online and order presents for the eldests 3rd birthday later this month. I might try and do a dead seasalt bath if they’re not playing up for DH too much.

One DS has a soccer match - weather is brutal here but it will still go ahead I think.

I've so much house cleaning to do, the place is falling down around me due to a busy week in work & kids leaving a trail of chaos in the meantime.

I am in a very despondent mood & had planned a run (which would help) but have slept really terribly. Weighing up whether a walk instead might still have the same effect!

Volunteering at Parkrun this morning.

Going to hotly contested Village Show this afternoon.

Flittingaboutagain · 05/08/2023 07:21

Wow everyone's lives are so different aren't they.

I'm sorry to the poster who's Dad has passed away.

I used to have dachshunds and have never heard of the Dash Bash! Had one that absolutely hated wet weather so he wouldn't be competing today.

What's the festival @Theblackdogagain wondering if I can take my two?

Littletinytarzanswingingfromanosehair · 05/08/2023 07:21

*Dog walk (he has an awesome raincoat Thankfully)
*Bottomless brunch
*Snoozing
*Hot sauce challenge tonight

Has anyone else struggled with this weather MH wise? I suffer badly in winter with SAD and summer normally gets me through.

Today would've been my DDads 70th Birthday but sadly he died end of April. All the family are getting together at my Mums house - was supposed to be a BBQ but the glorious weather has put a stop on that. So 20 people squashed into a small lounge, ah well Dad would have laughed,

Sending love to you and your family today

EarringsandLipstick · 05/08/2023 07:24

Has anyone else struggled with this weather MH wise?

It wouldn't usually affect me - but I had 2 weeks of lovely weather in West Cork, while the rain poured everywhere else, and I've really struggled mood-wise since coming back.

I've a lot of stress at the moment, but even basic house tasks are seeming so much harder in this weather!

mumonthehill · 05/08/2023 07:25

Well we are under the amber wind warning so after going swimming I think I might bring in the garden furniture! Cleaning today as friends coming to stay next weekend. Absolutely fed up with the weather so may have an early gin....

Dibbydoos · 05/08/2023 07:25

If you're in the Midlands, and are adults only, Hatton Country World has an event on. That's where we're going!

For adults only, lots of independent shops/ clothes/ jewellery etc to browse around and decent cafe.

If its not a day of constant rain, the kids area (charged) is great! Trampolines, pan for gold, like a petting zoo, guinea pig petting area - loads of them and indoors.

Spudlet · 05/08/2023 07:25

Also meant to be camping… debating whether to sack it off. DS will be gutted 😭

LabbyDabbyDoohDah · 05/08/2023 07:25

Off into London with DD14 for Korean BBQ and to see Six. My heart sank a little when I saw the forecast. I love London in all weathers though.

Got home from Central Europe on Wednesday and I couldn’t believe the difference. It’s still proper summer there. It feels very Autumnal today and I am making my first crumble for Sunday lunch tomorrow, as we have ripe blackberries. Then we got off to Slovenia for (hopefully!) two more weeks of summer!

Copperoliverbear · 05/08/2023 07:26

Taking the dog for a walk, taking elderly relative food shopping, then housework, nothing very exciting this weekend, next weekend meeting my sister for lunch. This has got to be the worst summer on record. X

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 05/08/2023 07:28

Afternoon viewing of Oppenheimer, it’s so long it’ll take up the afternoon and evening if we eat out afterwards.

ThreeRingCircus · 05/08/2023 07:28

Currently having a cup of tea and DD2 is watching CBeebies. DD1 is miraculously having a lie in.

I'm going to the gym later this morning then I need to pop to the supermarket as we're having DB and SIL over later. We'd planned to have a BBQ but the weather is dreadful so we're going to make lots of snacks, open some wine and order a takeaway. Then just chill and have a natter. I love SIL (and DB of course) so I'm looking forward to it.

Longwhiskers · 05/08/2023 07:28

We haven’t had a weekend at home to ourselves with no agenda since late May (either been away or had people staying). I’m making raisin bread, going to a garden centre to get a large pot for a plant that’s threatening to jump out its current one, and going for a walk in the woods.

TweetyMcTweetFace · 05/08/2023 07:29

Waiting for my toddler to wake up as he's having a rare lie in!

Then probably off to a retail park where he can run around indoors for a bit, pop to the supermarket then home for lunch. Probably another puddle filled walk this afternoon then depending on toddler bedtime due to lie in, maybe a film with my husband.

Nicer weather due next week...

CaptainCallisto · 05/08/2023 07:33

We are also staying with family in a glorious coastal town (where I grew up). It's rained for pretty much the entire week we've been here, so we've exhausted the very limited indoor activity supply. Think we'll be hiding indoors from the 50mph winds, and tackling my mum's big stack of boardgames!

SardineJam · 05/08/2023 07:35

New light fittings arrived in the week, so putting them up. Pop to the shops for some bits for meals over the weekend and maybe some board games, usually reserved for winter...!

Monkeybutt1 · 05/08/2023 07:38

Currently sat in bed with a coffee. DS has footy training this morning, then a haircut. We go on holiday on Friday so need to pop to the shops later for a couple of last minute things, I also need to clean and will be doing a yoga video.
DH has just announced he's cooking tea tonight, so might have a gin and catch up on celebrity masterchef whilst he cooks. DS is 10 so will probably be on fortnite online with his friends.

iamboudicca · 05/08/2023 07:38

Packing for a camping holiday…

Moose657 · 05/08/2023 07:39

It's my birthday, and we actually have no plans rather than a meal due to the weather!

Mojodojocasahaus · 05/08/2023 07:39

Boozy brunch with my mum and her mates
