What's the worst musical you have ever been to?

I love musicals, and DS2 who has autism is obsessed so we go to as many as we can. We've seen Cats (not the film!) 7 times, JCSS 7 times, Blood Brothers, Les Mis, Evita, Chicago , Cabaret..and many others. (JCSS is my personal favourite)

Today we went to We Will Rock You.
OMG.
It was cringingly awful. Even if you love Queen, it was still so bad. Worst 'plot' and dialogue ever, the choreography was...interesting and it was played for cheap laughs and smutty out dated jokes, headed by Ben Elton who cannot..and should not..sing.
Never again!!!

The UB40 musical. Just the weirdest thing I've ever seen.

Saw "dirty dancing" about 10 years ago and it was very disappointing

Didn’t enjoy Miss Saigon. Have seen Six twice (with different kids). First time (pre covid) was quite enjoyable, second time (recently) was awful - they’ve hammed it up too far, the performers were (understandably) knackered from too many earlier performances in the day (well, that’s the excuse I gave them for the singing and dancing being mega poor…) and it just seemed very ‘basic’ compared to the more ‘witty’ version I’d seen previously.

@LucyGru Bake off ran for a few weeks in London earlier this year, thankfully the tickets were cheap!

I enjoyed them both, but was extremely underwhelmed by the lion king, and Charlie and the chocolate factory.

How has no one mentioned Starlight Express yet - it was awful!
Cats was also terrible as was Dirty Dancing

My first thought when I saw the thread title was We Will Rock You - glad to hear I'm not alone! I thought the WWRY 'storyline' was unbeatably awful, and then I saw Bat Out of Hell... 😬 the cast themselves were amazing though, bless them.

I also don't like Into The Woods

I found the Titanic musical exceptionally boring.

My judgement might have been skewed because I was seated under an aircon unit blasting out Arctic air.

Cats. It was awful, the woman who sang Memories couldn’t hold a tune in a bucket and the others weren’t much better. We left at the interval but if we had been sat at the end of a row I think we’d have gone sooner.

my faves of all time are Hamilton and Crazy for You….haven’t seen the new production as can’t really afford it at the mo😔

Matilda. Save me from shrill voices!

Hated Les Miserables. Proper hated it and l love me a musical show!

Sweeney Todd in London.

Mathilda. I have absolutely no idea why everyone loves it 🤷‍♀️it's so overrated.

But I can't believe "Prince of Egypt" is on this list. I absolutely loved it and seen it 3 times.

Omg why?!? How can you hate Les Mis?

I feel awful saying this but very specifically Sheridan Smith in Joseph. I love Joseph, I loved Sheridan Smith in Legally Blond but somehow the direction had her acting so over the top, which is saying something for Joseph, and I found it so irritating. Her fans loved it.

Time. The one with the giant hologram head of Laurence Olivier.

Shrek the musical it was awful.

Thought Wicked was so boring .Billie Elliot was also very underwhelming.

Phantom of the Opera will always be my favourite and I’ve been seeing shows for 40 years. Maybe I don’t have good taste?

Lion king. I know that is akin to blasphemy but I just hated it, I couldn't deal with the heads on top of heads and just found it long and boring
