My cousins are here for two weeks

Two weeks is a long time to think a family can tour them around
Cook and clean for them?

Or am I being too mean?

I'm so sick of walking in pee from the husband in the toilet
It's everywhere

I just had to clear all his breakfast food up
With a baby in my arms screaming her head off

Aghhhhhhhjjj

Sorry all just needed to vent

It was a cheapy

And I was too cross to do anything else with it lol

Why have they come to stay for so long if you live in the middle of nowhere, nothing to do and they don't drive? Sounds tedious all round...as well as very pissy.

thisisasurvivor · 31/07/2023 14:49

It is pissy

So it was their choice not mine

I said I would drive them for some trips

Two weeks is a huge ask though

Lordlanky · 31/07/2023 14:55

You're not a cow though, you're putting up with eay more than I would.

Id start being more blunt - pile the plates in front of him and say 'they need to go in the dishwasher please'

And next time you walk into a pissy loo, or a bin filled with pissy loo roll - walk out again and loudly proclaim that whoever left the loo in a mess is to clean it, and clean it properly or else they dont get to come back and stay. Then go into your bedroom while they do it, check its done, then move on as if nothing happened. Rinse and repeat!

thisisasurvivor · 31/07/2023 14:56

I like that
Yes

I don't want to offend

But I should have said one week ideal otherwise you all will be bored to death

I have no sense
I know that 🥲😅

OP posts:
ThePoetsWife · 31/07/2023 15:23

Ffs he is offending you.

Tell him to stop pissing the floor and suggest that he pee sitting down.

PutinSmellsPassItOn · 31/07/2023 15:30

Last time I had visitors I loudly bellowed 'can the person leaving skiddies in the toilet bowl clean up after themselves ? ' Never happened again.

Any piss splashes would be dealt with in the same way......ditto leaving shit lying about. It's not on.

JockTamsonsBairns · 31/07/2023 15:38

If the mat was "soaked", rather than a few drips, then it must be deliberate.

Also, I don't understand some of your comments -

"I'm a moany mare 🤣🤣🤣"
"I'm just a cow"
"I have no sense"

Why are you being so self critical, when these people are so disrespectful of you and your home?
Stop with the hints, find your voice, and tell them that the way they are behaving is completely intolerable.

MakkaPakkasMuvva · 31/07/2023 15:42

So many strong, assertive women on mumsnet! If you are all telling the truth that's wonderful and I wish I was like you!

Meanwhile, some of us are wet blankets and have grown up as people pleasers and fawners and its hard to change a habit of a lifetime. I get you op, I let people take the piss and then silently seeth at their behaviour. If you can't handle a confrontation, what about a sign in the bathroom? Or a breezy 'can you help me with these plates Nigel?' Rather than 'clean up your own fucking mess you entitled twat'. Maybe say that one internally 😁

WinterDeWinter · 31/07/2023 15:46

DO NOT MAKE THIS HIS WIFE'S PROBLEM!

I beg you. His piss, he cleans it up.

Men like this need it said clearly, out loud, in public if possible.

"Hey cousin - here's the cleaning materials to clean up the piss you keep leaving everywhere, do it now before lunch please. Cheers."

WinterDeWinter · 31/07/2023 15:48

Or if you're less assertive: hey cousin, you know we love you but we cannot handle all the piss everywhere in the loo, take this and clean it up now there's a love.

PlacidPenelope · 31/07/2023 15:50

Yes I am telling the truth, no way would I put up with that behaviour. It's really not difficult, ultimately you will be treated the way you allow people to treat you and if you are willing to stay silent whilst people treat you with contempt then the only one to blame is yourself.

It's not a confrontation, it is just a clearly worded expectation of how you require guests to treat you and your home. What they do in their own filthy house is up to them but it is not acceptable to inflict that on others.

swimlyn · 31/07/2023 15:53

"cousin, you've left the bathroom in mess, pee everywhere. Can you clean it up so that the next person can use it?"

I would take the opportunity, in front of everyone, to say this. Dirty boy!

WhatADrabCarpet · 31/07/2023 17:04

You need to address this; this is your home!

If you can't then just accept it.

I wouldn't.

👏🏻

Sorry OP but you are being pathetic.
Martyrdom is not a good look.

Andylion · 31/07/2023 17:38

Toilet he is using toilet paper to clean up the piss

And leaves the fcking toilet paper on top of the fcking bin so I have to life it off bin and Throw in toilet
Agggggggghhhhhhh

This would anger me more than anything else. He is clearly pissing all over the place on purpose.

tootallfortheshelf · 31/07/2023 17:40

what is the matter with all you doormats?
why are you letting people walk all over you?

dottiedodah · 31/07/2023 17:51

Honestly ,what are they like FFS! If this is a grown man ,just say as Winter de Winter says .They are massively taking the piss quite literally!

Sometimes he has been drunk hence the wet toilet mat

I don't know

Yes I'm a walkover

Lesson learned

Goldbar · 31/07/2023 19:25

If you really feel that you can't say anything (🙄), at least tape some puppy pads to the bathroom floor around the toilet. Ask him to bin and replace them each day. Hopefully he'll get the message.

ChiefWiggumsBoy · 31/07/2023 19:36

Can you please stop putting yourself down?

Just because this is a family member (or family member's husband) doesn't mean it's outrageous for you to expect to not have to clean a full grown adult's piss off the bathroom.

YANBU, or a cow, or a bitch, or any other of the things you have said. You're a normal person pissed off with being an unpaid housekeeper for pisstaking visitors.

Oldraver · 31/07/2023 20:21

FGS woman, you know damn well you should not be cleaning up a mans piss or picking his pissy loo roll off the bin. Why did you do it rather than say "hey pissy head, sort your fucking mess out"

Mellowautumnmists · 31/07/2023 20:33

@thisisasurvivor earlier today you said, 7 days to go

Having read some of the advice on here, have you decided to challenge their behaviour?

runningonberocca · 31/07/2023 21:38

WTF is wrong with the man? This has to be deliberate or else he needs to make an urgent medical appointment about his incontinence . He was drunk doesn’t cut it . I’ve been drunk - possibly too often, as has my DP ( definitely too often) and neither of us have ever pissed on the mat!! Or left our urine soaked toilet roll around someone else’s house!!
This is completely unacceptable.

I'm wondering if medically something is badly wrong !!!

But still ffs

You then bend down and clean it

I sat in it the first night was half asleep in the bathroom
Ughhhhhhhh
