Do you have a tv in your bedroom ?

We do but it is tiny and not a smart tv so I only turn it on for sound / company if I am cleaning In there

but I was thinking of getting a better tv to encourage me to actually go to bed a bit earlier (I would turn it off at a sensible hour🤣)

so I would shower and chill out rather than back up to the main room ?? Maybe nowadays the thing is to use you or phone

No we don't. But when DC moves into their room when they are a bit older we definitely will!

Bananas1350 · 29/07/2023 19:15

I do. But it’s becuase I have problems with my muscles. And sitting in bed in the evenings is better. Also good for a quick smooch in the advert breaks 😍🤣

AssertiveGertrude · 29/07/2023 19:17

Ah good a reason as any to have tv in the bedroom 🤣🤣🤣❤️

We do!! We mostly watch tv in bed when its coldoutside, love being cosy in bed on a cold day!!

wonderstuff · 29/07/2023 19:18

We’ve got one but very rarely use it tbh.

FisherThem · 29/07/2023 19:20

Never! Sleep hygiene. Bed is for sleep and sex. Other rooms for relaxing. I hate the idea of hanging out in bed.

RotundRuby · 29/07/2023 19:21

Yes we do. I would recommend a ROKU stick for converting non-smart tv into one with all the apps

Don't watch it every night but I think its much better than scrolling on the phone.

OddBoots · 29/07/2023 19:21

We have just put one in for the first time - we had a no screens in bedrooms policy when the children were growing up but they are both adults now so that rule no longer applies.

They are actually in their 20s and one has left home so that rule has been gone a while but I was used to not having one.

Now energy bills have gone up we have installed one and in the winter we will be able to watch from bed where it is warmer rather than have the heating on until later or be cold.

bibbityboppityboo · 29/07/2023 19:22

We do, a Samsung frame one so it looks like art when it's not on. It's good for me when DH is travelling for work, I can cosy up and watch films in bed rather than sitting in the formal lounge on my own!

Gingerlygreen · 29/07/2023 19:23

We do but have only watched it about 3x in 5 years, I prefer sitting on the sofa to watch telly and use my phone in bed

AuntieMarys · 29/07/2023 19:24

No. Just the 2 of us.

monpetitlapin · 29/07/2023 19:24

We don't. I haven't since my early teens. As an adult, would you not be watching TV in your living room near the kettle and snacks?

purpleme12 · 29/07/2023 19:24

Yes I do I've had one since I was a teenager so it's hard not to now really!

SunnieShine · 29/07/2023 19:25

I do. Watching telly in bed is one of life's great pleasures. In winter I switch on the electric blanket and save on heating.

TropicalTrama · 29/07/2023 19:26

Yes but we only really use it for kids TV on weekend mornings!

shadowchancesassy · 29/07/2023 19:29

Yes

hiredandsqueak · 29/07/2023 19:32

Yes but I never watch it. It's there because we had a new one downstairs and there was nothing wrong with the old one so it got put upstairs. I don't think it's been switched on since it went upstairs two years ago.

TheChosenTwo · 29/07/2023 19:32

We do and I bloody love it!
I can drown out the tones of dh snoring and watch a couple of episodes of something to wind down and then nod off. Bloody lovely.
I don’t drink hot drinks so have no need to be anywhere near a kettle ever! And I don’t snack in the evenings as I eat my dinner late enough to not want to eat again before bed.

Daisythecat15 · 29/07/2023 19:32

Yes, but we only got it recently because I had major surgery and was going to be recovering in bed for awhile. We've decided to leave it there though because it's lovely watching a bit of telly in bed!

EileenBrysonsTeabags · 29/07/2023 19:33

No and never will. No screens in the bedroom either. Absolutely terrible for sleep hygiene.

XDownwiththissortofthingX · 29/07/2023 19:34

Nope.

Barely ever watch the one in the front room. Maybe once a month or so, so I have no reason to have one in the bedroom really.

To me the bedroom is a room for sleeping in, putting a TV in there is just as odd to me as putting a king size bed in your front room.

Saverage · 29/07/2023 19:35

I got rid of mine a while back. Never used it, and if I am ill and want to watch TV in bed I just use an ipad. Much prefer my bedroom now without a big black screen taking up wall space.

AnneLovesGilbert · 29/07/2023 19:39

No. We watch TV in the living room then up to bed.

frazzlerazzle · 29/07/2023 19:40

No, I don't really like watching TV in bed and I couldn't bear it if DH watched something while I was trying to sleep.

lemondust000 · 29/07/2023 19:40

Yes we do
