Do you have a tv in your bedroom ?

AssertiveGertrude · 29/07/2023 19:13

We do but it is tiny and not a smart tv so I only turn it on for sound / company if I am cleaning In there

but I was thinking of getting a better tv to encourage me to actually go to bed a bit earlier (I would turn it off at a sensible hour🤣)

so I would shower and chill out rather than back up to the main room ?? Maybe nowadays the thing is to use you or phone

Yes, we both love watching tv in bed. We can both sleep with the tv on so it doesn’t disturb us if one wants to watch and the other doesn’t.

Redglitter · 29/07/2023 20:57

I do. Wouldn't be without it. I suffer from several health issues & am sometimes in bed for days at a time

drinkuptheezider · 29/07/2023 20:59

I do, I watch TV in bed. Weirdly, I need low background noise to sleep. I often put a film I know well on and fall asleep in minutes .

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 29/07/2023 21:01

we do. I like to go to bed between 9 and 10 and watch telly for a bit. It’s nice to know that all you have to do is shut your eyes before you sleep.

Comedycook · 29/07/2023 21:04

Yes and I love having a TV in the bedroom. I escape there to watch trash TV on my own when dh is in the living room. We also like watching stuff together in the evening and when we are laying in on a weekend.

zurala · 29/07/2023 21:13

No. We don't have any tech in bedrooms at all. Phones stay downstairs overnight.

UsingChangeofName · 29/07/2023 21:13

No we don't. Never have.
Screens are really bad for your sleep hygiene, if you are worried about getting to sleep early.

TammyJones · 29/07/2023 21:14

Yes
8 years
Love it
Sky , Netflix, blooming great 😁
Very comfortable
(Great for snuggling).

Sewingdufus · 29/07/2023 21:16

Yes and have done for very many years. Latest one is 6 or 7 years old and been used 2 or 3 times, would rather watch on my iPad!

avocadotofu · 29/07/2023 21:19

No. I'm not keen on TVs and definitely wouldn't want one in my bedroom.

KohlaParasaurus · 29/07/2023 21:22

No, though I would if either DH or I had to spend a lot of time in bed for a health-related reason. The only time I've had a TV in a bedroom at home was around 25 years ago when DS became obsessed with watching videos of steam engines and I got him a little portable TV/video player for his room to free up the family TV.

HeidiWhole · 29/07/2023 21:23

Yes and we bloody love it.
Wireless headphones so one of us can watch without disturbing the other if need be.

TortolaParadise · 29/07/2023 21:27

Yes and we watch it most evenings or play the radio through it.

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 29/07/2023 21:28

I don't, but only because there's no good place to put one. It's bloody annoying!

I like to put something on to fall asleep to so I have to use my laptop.

Ragwort · 29/07/2023 21:31

I do (don't share a bedroom with my DH & he doesn't have one) ... never wanted a tv in my bedroom for years until Lockdown when there were occasions when I wanted to watch something different to the rest of the family so put a tv in my room) but to be honest I rarely watch it now but it can be convenient at times.

Do couples really enjoy watching the same tv together ... it's always a pain to try & find something both DH & I both want to watch?.

ToBeOrNotToBee · 29/07/2023 21:31

Nope. My bedroom is for sex and sleeping.

Excitingnewusername · 29/07/2023 21:33

No, but I did for many years from teenage years to mid-30s ish.

When DH is away (as I can't fall asleep in silence and he normally is up later than me listening to music), or I'm under the weather, I take my laptop up to bed. Which I will admit isn't quite the same (or as good).

If I want to watch TV and snuggle up to get really warm and cosy in winter, I have a spare duvet to use on the sofa. Which somehow feels more indulgent than being in bed.

aintnospringchicken · 29/07/2023 21:34

No ,never had a TV in the bedroom

FastBlueHedgehog · 29/07/2023 21:39

Nope - don't even have phones in our bedroom. Bed is for reading, sleeping, sex. I don't even watch TV if I'm in a hotel bedroom.

MajesticWhine · 29/07/2023 21:43

I have one but hardly ever use it. Only watch when I have been ill and am lying in bed for a few days.

Forgottenmypasswordagain · 29/07/2023 21:47

Yes, we do. I am the only person who watches it.

Heyhoherewegoagain · 29/07/2023 21:48

No. We did in our old house, but we now have a ridiculously big (72”)🙄one in the living room so I refused point blank to have one in the bedroom. We have iPads if we do want to watch anything in bed

shelbabab · 29/07/2023 21:48

I do but may as well not have one. It's broken half the screen goes fuzzy. Haven't bothered replacing as we never use it much at the moment.

Used to use it every night before bed and in the morning getting ready for work. That was before the kids now we don't want to wake them at night with our telly and never have time to watch it in the mornings now 😂

I will replace it though at some point.

caringcarer · 29/07/2023 21:50

We do but I don't think I've watched it since the last Olympic games.

MaidOfSteel · 29/07/2023 21:51

I couldn't be without a telly in my bedroom. I have an adjustable bed (mobility problems, chronic pain etc) and I feel much more comfortable spending time there, with the telly helping to distract me.
