Do you have a tv in your bedroom ?

We do but it is tiny and not a smart tv so I only turn it on for sound / company if I am cleaning In there

but I was thinking of getting a better tv to encourage me to actually go to bed a bit earlier (I would turn it off at a sensible hour🤣)

so I would shower and chill out rather than back up to the main room ?? Maybe nowadays the thing is to use you or phone

We've got one in the spare room which is nice to chill out in occasionally or if H wants to watch something different. If I can't sleep I sometimes go in and watch a few episodes of Frasier until I drift off..

BitOutOfPractice · 29/07/2023 19:59

We do. We never ever use it. Just never think of it. We are more radio people 🤷‍♀️

UndercoverCop · 29/07/2023 20:01

We do but it's rarely used. I tried to put it on this week as DS has been poorly and I had an important call to make so was going to put a film on for him, couldn't find the remote for love nor money and couldn't get onto the apps without it

Jellykat · 29/07/2023 20:01

I do, as a hangover from days gone by before the DC left home and i got rid of my partner.
Dont ever watch it though cos the sitting room one is bigger, and i tend to listen to the radio in my bedroom.

GreyCarpet · 29/07/2023 20:08

Nope. I've never had a TV in my bedroom!

MsSquiz · 29/07/2023 20:09

We do, but I couldn't tell you the last time it was actually turned on!
Pre kids it used to be for DH to fall asleep while watching MOTD when I had already fallen asleep or lazy weekend mornings.
Then with DD1 it used to be for early morning CBeebies with her morning milk in our bed. Now with DD2, we just get up and take her downstairs

Lkahsvtv · 29/07/2023 20:11

We never did but the got a new tv and moved the old one into our room and I really like it as a chance to have time to myself, especially with teenagers in the house

Yetisrus29 · 29/07/2023 20:11

I got rid of it as I found I just wasn't watching it, I don't watch much TV as it is nowadays. I live on my own so if I lived with someone again it may be different.

User16496743 · 29/07/2023 20:12

Yes, where else would DH watch his crappy sport

Abracadabra12345 · 29/07/2023 20:14

FisherThem · 29/07/2023 19:20

Never! Sleep hygiene. Bed is for sleep and sex. Other rooms for relaxing. I hate the idea of hanging out in bed.

100% this

MerelyPlaying · 29/07/2023 20:14

Nope. Never have and never will.

Marmite27 · 29/07/2023 20:17

No, because DH suffers from insomnia and puts the tv on, which then disturbs me!

However, I watch stuff on my iPad before he comes to bed Grin

CopperSeahorses · 29/07/2023 20:17

Sure do, I watch rubbish on it on my many, many sleepless nights.

herf · 29/07/2023 20:19

No as we have a baby in with us, we've had at least one child in with us for 5 years. And there would have been nowhere to out one in our last flat, as the wardrobe faced the bed. Could put one in our current room once baby moves out, but don't think it would be any better than just watching TV in the living room.

Vettrianofan · 29/07/2023 20:19

No, just use the bedroom for reading and sleeping. And my phone occasionally.

HappiDaze · 29/07/2023 20:20

No because we use laptops or iPads to watch TV upstairs

Abracadabra12345 · 29/07/2023 20:21

frazzlerazzle · 29/07/2023 19:40

No, I don't really like watching TV in bed and I couldn't bear it if DH watched something while I was trying to sleep.

^
And that's the other thing, suppose one wants to watch and the other wants to sleep, or read, or you don't want to watch the same thing? Also my brain would be too wired.

And doesn't sound travel through many party walls ? I'd be pissed off if our neighbours got one. I can hear my friend's neighbour's TV through their shared wall when I go stay there but luckily it's off by 10. Silence is such a rare and precious thing, why add yet more noise when you're trying to settle for sleeping?

kitsuneghost · 29/07/2023 20:23

We do. I like lying in bed watching telly

CornishGem1975 · 29/07/2023 20:23

No, I used to years ago but have never missed it.

shakeitoffsis · 29/07/2023 20:23

Yes we watch tv in bed every night pretty much from 8-10pm. It's comfier than the sofa 😂

brownbeauty80 · 29/07/2023 20:23

Yes we do
I use it to watch my recorded shows in the morning while I'm showering and getting ready
Also watch it while ironing and use it for music when cleaning the bedrooms
I love it

Pamspeople · 29/07/2023 20:26

No, never have. No screens in bedroom if possible, messes with natural sleep patterns.

FannythePinkFlamingo · 29/07/2023 20:26

Yes, but I can remember the last time it was used.

NeverThatSerious · 29/07/2023 20:27

We do but since having our son two years ago, and getting another dog who isn’t really allowed upstairs, we don’t use it much.. or ever really. In the last two years it’s probably been on less than five times!

ToesToYourNose · 29/07/2023 20:54

Nope. I had one in my room at my parents house but when I moved out with dp I didn’t want one in the bedroom and we’ve moved again since now and I still don’t want one in there but I think dp would choose to have one as he likes staying in bed so we probably will end up with one when ds and future dc is older 🤷‍♀️
