As with the username I'm a nosey parker and I always find myself wondering what people have in their shopping bags.

What has everybody brought recently?

I went shopping as it was payday and I came to an absolute blank. Literally all I brought was some baby grows for my daughter.

Need to go find my daughter's first pair of shoes in Clarks today ❤️

A dress, almost new from charity shop
Nothing more

Am really trying to reduce what I buy this year. But am going to a 2 day wedding affair. Due to major surgeries, I can only wear dresses and have Jolie Moi dresses I wear all the time, which would do but I wanted something more sophisticated. It’s going to be an extravagant, family wedding so I wanted something new. I’ve also lost a stone in weight so am celebrating a little win. I picked up a couple of Adrianna Papell dresses in the sale. I have a tiny metallic cardigan I bought some years ago and it matches the dress almost perfectly (as it’s perhaps a bit much for the evening before without a cover up) and have bought a short off white blazer for the aqua gown for if it’s cold. The gown is for the actual wedding and I only bought the extra dress as it’s so cheap.

A fruit bowl and some Harem trousers. I bought the trousers as I want something to wear when I'm travelling. I find flying in jeans uncomfortable and don't want to wear joggers. I already have a pair but find one isn't enough.

TheFairyCaravan · 29/07/2023 08:26

A ceramic kitchen sink and tap.

Some yarn to crochet baby clothes for our first grandchild who is due to be born in the New Year.

VWT5 · 29/07/2023 09:33

An electric micro-needling facial procedure.
I hope to look like Kylie Minogue by next week…
(when I pick up my pension 😂)

A fridge magnet.

KPops22 · 29/07/2023 09:57

Yesterday a Dior eyeshadow palette, a cover up from the sale in Zara and a dress from Superdry. This was the first time I went into Superdry as I was convinced they would only have tiny sizes.

I agree. It's really, really basic English and I'm always a bit "WTF?" when I see that mistake written down.

Same here, and it is very quick and simple to learn the difference. Why should the reader have to decipher what's meant? Words mean different things and are for communication. That's the whole idea of using them. Brought does not mean the same as bought. No money is involved.

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 29/07/2023 10:06

Some Sandals as the sun has come out at last!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/07/2023 10:07

God, the OP made a mistake. It’s been noted. No need to keep going on about it.

notprincehamlet · 29/07/2023 10:16

A lipstick and some concealer from Harvey Nics (all my other makeup dates from around the mid 1990s). They're lovely but I'll probably never wear them as they're Too Nice To Use.

Where did you get the running wheel? My furry demons would probably love one. Or actually would love it for 2 minutes, then ignore it in favour of the box.

We got it from ZooPlus, it was on offer so we bit the bullet with it. It's always a risk buying for a cat!

thebear1 · 29/07/2023 11:41

2 books for 10 year old ds to take on holiday and a foot splint for me. I'm quite jealous of some of these more exciting purchases.

The horse is dead, leave it be.

All the 'kind' handwringers calling out those who have indicated it's 'bought' not 'brought' as pendants and 'sad'. No I had no idea what the OP meant.

Brought and bought mean two totally different things. Totally different. It's not like 'their' it should be 'they're' or 'draw' when it should be 'drawer' which sound exactly the same with different spellings.

It's just totally wrong and it's not 'kind' to ignore it.

Oh so near! Muphry's law strikes again!

Pendants indeed... Grin

Squirrel food for the 2 that visit our garden
3 t-shirts each for 2 GDs

Ffs I’m a copy editor and these things don’t bother me that much!

Thoroughly enjoying this thread.

@Mummyoflittledragon I’m sure you’ll look lovely and have a great time.

@TheFairyCaravan what taps did you get to go with your sink?

I have bought myself some swimming gear and a dry robe for getting into the sea more often. Love it!

AccidentallySuckedTheStrippersDick · 29/07/2023 12:08

@Chatillon

I need to know more about the goats. Why? Boys? Girls? Age? Breed? PHOTOS?

MyrtleSmurf · 29/07/2023 12:30

Lucy and Yak Alexas. Bought new, I misjudged the sizing and they're way too big but I managed to find the smaller size on Vinted so the new ones are going back and being replaced with Vinted ones! They are amazing, I can see me getting a lot of wear out of them.

Also a new planner for work and some earrings.

merryhouse · 29/07/2023 14:25

I don't do the groceries in our household atm.

In June I bought several garments from the charity shop (tshirts, tops, cardigans and a pair of jeans I realised only later were cropped which I don't want).

Monday: a packet of sanitary towels, 50p

Last Saturday: four pints of beer. And I was present when a kebab was purchased for my exclusive use Grin

Previous Saturday: four pints of beer (this is an anomaly, honest) and two bus tickets home.

FFS, I work in Waitrose and these things bother me greatly. Would you like to swop jobs?😆

Errolwasahero · 29/07/2023 16:31

Haha well they bother me to the extent that would change it, if I was being paid to check it, obviously! But I can’t get angry about it on sm. Life’s too short!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/07/2023 16:32

So bothered that you can't spell 'swap'? Just saying...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/07/2023 16:34

Or maybe you can swap it for swop? Ignore me. I'm tired and grumpy.

Errolwasahero · 29/07/2023 16:34

(Feverishly checks post for inaccuracies) 🤪
