What have you brought recently?

As with the username I'm a nosey parker and I always find myself wondering what people have in their shopping bags.

What has everybody brought recently?

I went shopping as it was payday and I came to an absolute blank. Literally all I brought was some baby grows for my daughter.

Need to go find my daughter's first pair of shoes in Clarks today ❤️

@caringcarer
you sound like a lovely auntie. I bet your niece will
be delighted!

RumNotRun · 29/07/2023 16:53

I think one of my cats would love it, he always seems to be doing a cat version of parkour in the house. If only there was somewhere you could go and take your cat to test them 😀

RumNotRun · 29/07/2023 16:56

I haven't bought anything recently as it's been a long month and payday isn't until Monday. However I have been filling my Amazon basket, ready to press buy at 12.01am! I have included the vampire garlic crusher as a pp listed. He's been on my wishlist for ages but I keep forgetting about him.

Also some rose rum, and some books.

Bought

So bothered that you can't spell 'swap'? Just saying...

Either spelling is correct. I'm quite happy to be corrected if I'd got it wrong, but swop is absolutely fine. Unlike brought when you mean bought.

All the 'kind' handwringers calling out those who have indicated it's 'bought' not 'brought' as pendants and 'sad'. No I had no idea what the OP meant.

Brought and bought mean two totally different things. Totally different. It's not like 'their' it should be 'they're' or 'draw' when it should be 'drawer' which sound exactly the same with different spellings.

It's just totally wrong and it's not 'kind' to ignore it.

Nothing to do with 'being kind', just not being a red-pen arsehole. The posters who pulled the OP up knew fine well what she meant, they just wanted to. If you don't understand something so simple, with all the context of what OP posted, then nobody can help you.

A chicken coop in the shape of a tiny barn, very cute.
A vintage sun parasol, orange yellow and brown floral complete with tassels.
Some lovely new bedding for my daughter.
2 gorgeous snuggly sleeping bags, in the sale, prompted by a recent camping trip where I was freezing and so they were expensive but needed.

Ok - lesson learnt thank you so much everyone. Perhaps we can stop the comments now?!

All the spelling comments remind me of my deeply unpleasant aunt. She did actually write a book about the correct use of grammar and then paid to have it published. Awful woman.

Anywho, I recently treated myself to some Kérastase blow dry cream and hair oil.

Mummyoflittledragon · 30/07/2023 01:39

Ah thanks @Errolwasahero

MinnieMountain · 30/07/2023 06:20

A puffin print lamp shade whilst on holiday.

JaneJeffer · 30/07/2023 06:50

These two words sound completely different 😝

Purplecatshopaholic · 30/07/2023 08:29

Not clicked Buy yet, but about to buy some pillow cases from John Lewis in a lovely duck egg blue - albeit to replace the ones just chewed to pieces by my ‘beloved’ dog, lol

AssertiveGertrude · 30/07/2023 09:03

I bought a decent travel coffee cup (conito or something like that in pink) from Tesco

and stackers !! Cannot wait for them to come (jewellery storage box)

HappiDaze · 30/07/2023 09:03

I bought a needle threader and a magnet seam guide to help sew straight edges on the machine

Heyhoherewegoagain · 30/07/2023 09:10

Nothing interesting-only food shopping recently, but I’m hopefully away to buy flights for a ew days in the sun as I’m fed up to the back teeth of this bloody awful “summer” weather

Garman · 28/07/2023 14:55

Yeah well tbf the words have two different meanings, you mean bought not brought.

Bitchy 🙄. You knew what the OP meant.

PowerTulle · 30/07/2023 09:25

Some olives and olive paste from the airport shop.
if I can find a patch of sun to eat them in today I can pretend I’m still in Greece.

PedantScorner · 30/07/2023 09:27

I don't think it is 'bitchy', @Tiredmummaoftwo , and I'm not sure why you needed to comment.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie , @JaneJeffer , the word drawer sounds different - draw-er not draw. It's more noticeable in a rhotic accent.

They sound identical to me. Never heard anybody say drawer in a way that sounds different to draw.

Mascara

Bird seed

They aren’t identical to people with rhotic accents. Ask an Irish person you know to say ‘drawer’.

PedantScorner · 30/07/2023 09:39

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie , draw [drɔː], drawer /drɔːr/
I say drawer as draw-er, like I say drawing as draw-ing
